I'd get their specs and compare them to the big manufacturers. That being said the vast majority of AR lower receivers are made by 2 or 3 companies. In addition, the lower receiver on an AR doesn't have a lot of stress on it. It's there primarily to hold the trigger group, magazine and stock.

I understand that Marty. By the time you finish assembling a lower, you pretty much know whether it's in spec or not by how well the fit is as the parts go in. They're a piece of cake to assemble. I can vouch for Aero Precision's quality. I built myself a 6.8 SPC carbine last year. I'm getting sub-.75" (6 shot) groups at 100yds with that rig. And, I haven't put a GOOD trigger in it yet. But, I did my homework on the upper and have a sweet one married to the lower. I'm just curious now with this rollmark. A pistol for the saddle bag of my Valk would be a hoot.

This one's not a Valkyrie (It is in fact an Aero Precision) but... This thing was a BLAST to build, and even more fun to shoot... For this kinda thing, it's really nice to be local to Model1Sales

Purdy little blazer you have there !!! That's what I have in mind for my saddle bag. I can't speak for their other caliber offerings, but, I wouldn't touch a Model1Sales in 6.8 SPC. SAAMI chamber and WAY too much rate of twist for what's needed in the 6.8 game. Here's the one I built (lower is Aero Precision). Upper is from AR Performance. Squared upper, bedded barrel nut extension, mid-length gas, 6.8x43 chamber (equivelant to the .223Wylde in the .223/5.56 arena), 1:11.25 5R rifling in a 16" recon profile. It's gonna suit me just fine. The scope on it is for range time. I have a 2-7x32 scope for it for when it goes into the field. I'm quite pleased with how it shoots too (even with the nasty old DPMS LPK trigger in it). I'll be more concerned with POI/POA when I put the field scope on it. I was more interested in how consistently it was grouping on this day. Those are fatory loads. 6 rds at 100yds. I haven't started working hand-rolled yet.

Very nice! I haven't looked seriously into the 6.8's, but the 5.56 handgun was built purely as a toy and for the joy of building it, so I didn't dig too deep into their specifics...

Hey 'dog! LTNS! I got the BRD bad. Finished my 2nd build last week, a .264 LBC, 24" bbl from BHW. I build my lowers from Aero and Surplus Ammo, too. Good outfit, good people. I haven't got the bug for an AR pistol, YET. Got enough short bbls now. Here's the latest build before I painted the stock black. C ya!

If you do decide to look into a 6.8... gimme a holler. I don't judge a company as a whole by their 6.8 offerings... but, I don't trust a "name" just because they may build a nice 5.56. Many want a slice of the 6.8 pie and just throw something out there without knowing what WORKS in that caliber. I've been as immersed in this thing as I used to be in my Valk. LOL It's a GREAT hog/deer round. The guy that built my upper has taken an elk at 374yds with one (one round). Bear are being taken with it too. It excels in the shorter barrels, and I know of two guys who just dialed theirs' in to ring steel at 1K yds. I haven't made up my mind yet on caliber for the pistola build. I may go with 5.56. I like the looks of that puppy right there.

How do you like Carl's pipes? He posted a couple of times on the 6.8 board I haunt, but didn't seem too friendly... so I haven't tried his stuff. Yup, great folks at Surplus Ammo and Arms ! That's where I got my lower and other stuff. It's definately been too long. I was in Burlington just Sunday (family BD gathering). You still have your Valk?

I got out and popped a few caps today. The center bull was the first 5. I settled in and got bedded well by those. Keep in mind, those were the first 5 down the pipe. Those are factory Wolf, made for Alexander Arms. The upper right I am very happy with. That is 6, with the one called left. OD of .575 makes it just 5/16" C to C at 100. Those were my home-rolled, brass I formed myself, and Speer 120 Hot-core. This is what I want for my hunting load. Lower right group was me running out of time against the wind and rain. 'Nuther handload, room for improvement. I'm going to try to make this my new 1000 yard gun, replacing the 700 Rem Mag. It shows promise. I'll PM ya my phone #, 'dog. I am out at a match many Saturdays.

Lookin' good there Gary. A couple fellers I know were at a gathering in OK just last weekend. Two of 'em managed to get their 6.8s dialed in and were consistently ringing steel at 1K yds. A couple more were in there at 700yds. 'Das a LONG way out there indeed.
