ABATE, AMA, & MRF rep.

Pam and I left on Wednesday, March 2nd, after Pam got home from work (early too!).
Our daughter and her boyfiend started their spring break on friday and were staying with his parents in Punta Gorda untill last friday, when they headed back to FIT.
We got to our campground and started riding our bikes on the Gulf Coast but the traffic was just plain insane. Time to park the bikes and use the truck.
We met the parents and the rest of my daughters boyfriends family and and
freinds. They were a great bunch of folks and there generousity was beyond reproach.
On Monday morning we headed across the state to the Atlantic side via route 40 to Scotsmoor. Right in the middle of the wild fires (our campground was evacuated just days before and the fires had gotten within feet of the camp office).  That evening we went to "JB's Fish Camp" for the freshest seafood on the planet. (YUM!)
Tuesday morning we rode to Ormond  Beach to ride the "Loop" and then on to Flagler Beach for fresh blackend grouper tacos.

We were aproached by a reporter and asked if we could be interveiwed for the Daytona Daily Journal. Why of course we said,....will it be in the paper?

We spent our Honeymoon at Bike Week way back in 1988, and we've come back to the "High Tides" several times so far (a tradition for us).

We then went to do the "Main Street" thing.
Check out the bikes.

Now ya gotta dig this "Road Rat", a V-Rod motor in a FLH.

The proud owner.

A sweet Trump Bobber

Dig this FXR in military guise, by a guy from Quebec.

The next day we went to the mystic town of Casadaga. It is east of "nowhere" and just north of "lost". The town is filled with tarrot card readers, mystics, physic healers, and mediiums.
This fellow promised us a great time,...but with certain cautions (found out later to be true).

The meditation garden.

The next day we wanted to go to "Black Bike Week" on MM Bethune Blvd. for some BBQ ribs and/or fresh seafood. And on the way there I dumped my bike while crssing a busy street (remember the caution in Cassadaga!). Sore, but determined to not let it ruin our vacation.

Fresh Whitting platter for $5.00

The next day we cruised route 1 and checked out some exhibitions.

Beach Street the next day

Record breaking BMW RR1000,....8.48 in th1/4 mile with a stock motor.

How about a Honda CB1 400?

Our campsite in Scotsmoor.

Our final night we got together with our daughter and her boyfreind at a IHOP in Titusville.

Great report.

Thanks for taking the time to put it together.

Loved the pictures of the old bikes.

Especially that Black INDIAN.

Looked like one of the customs had a newer Indian engine in it.

The Little 1/2 holes around the cylinder head kind of gave it away.

Very good report Momz   cooldude
I seem to always carry a camera but just don't take the time to take good pictures and then take even more time to post. I for one appreciate the good ride reports that you and others seem to have the time and tallent to do.  Smiley

Nice report.

Is that a Harley Aermacchi in that one pic...the low slung black bike?  Sure looks like one except the kick start is on the wrong side....I think.

Digging the Triumphs.....and that blacked out VTX....kewl.   cooldude

Great post George  cooldude

I know ya have a soft spot in yer heart for 'Rat' bikes, and it shows in some of the pictures...  Very, very cool rides.  I'll bet the owners were just as interesting as their bikes!

See ya in Bellaire  Wink
