1. Have you ever noticed that BMW GSs look better when they are dirty and covered in mud?

2. Does anyone remember what a spoke wrench looks like?

3. Has anyone ever wondered about the "Horse Power to Weight Ratio" when you add all those chrome extras and doo- dads?

4. What would happen if we put bias-ply tires on our Valks rather than those outrageously priced radials?

5. Have you ever ridden (long term) a bike better than the Valk?

6. Remember when people thought a M/C with a driveshaft was virtually maintenence free?

7. Do you remember when Honda marketed the Gold Wing as a Superbike rather than a Tourer?

8. Does anyone know what was the fastest (1/4 mile) Gold Wing? (Hint: a standard built between 1981 and 1983)

1. Yes I have... I also believe that my Valkyrie looks better covered in road grime...  Cheesy
    (I rather ride than clean...)

2. No... but I do have a very tiny cresent wrench that works well.

3. I often have people tell me that their S-10 has a high HP/Weight ratio.  I reply that that works well... right up until you have to pull a trailer.  I'll take the V8 please!!

4. Good question... someone answer before I need to buy tires again!!

5. Not yet...

6. Key word... "Virtually"...  Grin

7. I was born AFTER that...  2funny

8. I have no clue...

1. You mean they're washable???

2. Yes. Saw one in a museum once.

3. Chrome, I've read can refract light in such a way as to actually accelerate the vehicle! Amazing, isn't it? (And I've actually been removing some chrome from mine lately anyway...)

4.  crazy2

5. Honestly, much as I hate to say it, hafta say yes, I have. Now, "better" is a relative term, but our ST1300 is better than the Valk in all ways on a spec sheet. But... The Valk is still my primary bike, just more comfortable for me.

6. At least we're not having to lube the chain at every other gas stop, but yeah... Of course, that was always "Maintenance free for the life of the bike" back when the life of the bike was 20,000 miles or so as well...

7. Honda has a marketing department???

8. a standard built between 1981 and 1983

1- If it is nice enough outside to clean the valk . It is nice enough to ride. I'm gone riding.

2- I own several from my youth.I started riding in 1978. All dirt bikes had spokes.

3- Hate chrome. In the wrong light it can blind you and possibly cause you to crash

4- When the wife and I bought our first valk in 01. I wore out the Dunflops that came on the valk.
went to the Darkside and haven't returned. On all of my  GL 1000's I have always run the Kenda Cruise. The rear on the GL's are 140/70/17. Kenda makes the tire in a 150 and 160/70/17.I was running a rear on the front years before I found this site.It is a bias ply tire. As of today the one on the front of my valk has around 4000 miles on it. Some where around a 100,000 mile on both valks together since 01 with NO problems.

5- NO

6- They still are for the most part. Go back to riding a bike with chain. Then tell us about
    maintenance

7- YEP wore out 7 of them since 1989. All of them where bought with less than 30,000 miles on
them. All of them had anywhere from 160,000 to 250,000 when I replaced them.

8- It wasn't an 81 to 83. It was a 75 with a supercharger and a lot of head work. Saw it in 1990 at a bike show.

Same thing will happen if me and Serk wash our Valks in the same week...there are some prophecies out there that predict we will do so in 2012...
