We will be hosting the March wrench party here on March 26.  I have 1 jack (no adapter), most tools, and enough room to get 3 maybe 4 bikes in at a time.  Liz said she would make some sort of breakfast casserole and donuts, and maybe even have some brauts for lunch.  First come first served.

8AM - everyone is done.
Email me at thagandy@centurytel.net for address.
Please let me know who will or might be coming so we can have enough refreshments for everyone.

Here is a link to the original thread.

I'll try to be there, but can't commit quite yet.  If I can't be there, I will make sure the football is there along with another lift and adapter.

It looks like the main theme will be final drives, so I hit the o-ring supply house today and got 10 sets of final drive o-rings for club use.  They will be in the football.

If you want a new thrust washer, you're on your own.   Wink

Call this place and see.. http://www.flying-tire.com/    It's a motorcycle tire/etc shop that opened up in a former drive thru car wash building.

They have a tiny little shop in Lewisville.. I bet they could use the business!

I'd really like to make it if I can. I ordered a jack adapter, and if it gets here in time I'll bring it along if needed. I also have the Honda tools for steering stem bearings for the VTX and Goldwing, but I'm not sure if the attachments are the same for the Valk, or if they're even an issue on this bike. Can also bring a mighty vac if needed if anyone will be doing clutch/brake flush. I've got some moly paste I can share. Do you have, or will anyone be bringing a torque wrench?

I'll email you to get your address.
Thanks.

Welcome, Lucky_1_Chris!

If your adapter gets here in time, great.  If not, no worries.  The "football" has the steering head bearing tool in it, so don't feel obligated to bring yours.  An extra miti-vac would probably come in very handy, as would moly past and moly grease.  I'll make sure the football has a loaner 1/2" drive torque wrench, too, for the 81 ft lbs rear axle nut.

Thanks!

Planning on being present.  Need someone who is a carb expert to show me how to reset the needles to lean out an engine and then maybe sync the carbs and set idle, etc.  I have printed the carb assembly instructions from the cd and have a copy of the type of needles that are in them. L

Disco,

I picked up a ratchet drive that is 3/8 on one side and 1/2 on the other for the football. That with the adapter set from the last wrench party ought ot put us in good shape. I think you me and Valkpilot should sit down and take a look at what we might add to the kit considering we would have been lost without his tools last time.

Stopped at a small tire place in town here earlier while we were out riding.  They said to bring it in and they would take a look and say if they could do it or not.  At first they were pretty much not going to do it, then I asked them to take a look at mine then I guess they realized what I was asking.  My guess is that if you take a tire and rim in and not say anything, they would just do it.  Might help if you speak spanish too.  Smiley

Guess i could strap the tire to the back and trunk of my IS and haul it there.  That should turn some heads.  I found a Falken for 94 dollars here in tyler.  205 65 16

That's what I did when I went Darkside.  Put it on the trunk and went to the wrench party.

I bought my DS tire today  Falken ZE512  205-65-16.  I will come with it strapped to the back of my bike.  Hope that little shop will be able to mount it for me.  I guess I will need to do the nut modification also while i have it off.  Trying to find the brake pads now.  See you guys saturday.  Anyone else going from East Texas lets meet up somewhere and ride.

I got the flaming death speech today Shocked I forgot my Dyna Beads in Memphis so I went to Two Wheel World in Garland today to pick some up. One of the guys behind the counter asked me the size of the tire. So when I told him it was a car tire he just went off on how I was going to kill myself and my insurance better be up to date and so on. He didn't stop for about 10 min. He just went on and on about it. I couldn't wait to get out of there, but I did find a chrome radiator hose cover set from Big bike things that were discontinued for the last few years for $100.00. I've been looking for one for a wile now cooldude I bought some extra Dyna Beads incase someone need any. If not, I can always use them down the road.
