Beautiful east Tennessee ( GOD'S Country )

« on: March 18, 2011, 05:32:23 PM »

What a beautiful day in the neighborhood and I have the sunburn to prove it. Started out this morning just as it was getting daylight.Few pictures that will show " Yes spring is in the air " .
Bradford Pears in full bloom.

Ol' Tom is gettin' horny ...I took this picture in my ridin' bud Wimp ( Paul's ) back yard this morning.

Not sure what these flowers are called however I know every year when you see them it's gettin' close to say adios to oldman winter.

Would'nt you like to have a dollar for every picture taken here ( Hell I'd like to have a dollar for every picture I've took here ) ....The overlook on US 129 The Dragon.

The tree of shame she's hangin' full   Sad

If you see this it's still there.

We left Deal's Gap headed for Cherohala Skyline ...Below is Cheoah Dam known by many as The Fugitive Dam...Harrison Ford or more like his stunt double jumped off it in the movie " The Fugitive "

Cherohala has three of these crossing's all on the North Carolina side and all near the top around the 8 mile marker  ....It's one of  life's little mysteries to me how the fine folks of North Carolina let the flying squirrel's know " Y'all need to cross here " not to say anything about the cost of three sets of these   ???

We did around 300 miles today and going to do it again tomorrow I'm thinking about headin' toward Kentucky up through Big South Fork <------Beautiful country and nice roads for motorcycling. We ran into Britman ( Paul ) at Deal's Gap today when I took this picture he said " Joe can this be the MONEY SHOT "  Grin "
