VERY expensive, and can be VERY touchy to install....

WORTH EVERY BIT!!!!

 Cheesy

You can find them on the 'bay for around $190. That's just under $200, not just under $20. But very well made, and works like a charm.

yea they are expensive.  I didnt think it was touchy at all to install though.  Pretty straight forward.  Like 10 min or so.

Prolly would have been a bit easier, if I hadn't bought it used, and things were set for a different bike, and I hadn't found the pdf on-line for it. I DID pay only $60 for it, though...

Can't imagine a better built, a better working or a safer throttle lock. Yes, they are expensive and yes, I think they're worth it. I've had one on many of my previous bikes as well. The install can be touchy with Kury grips as it's a tight fit. I have the oem Honda grips and the install was a 10 minute affair. I have some nerve damage to the two middle fingers on my right hand. At this point, I simply couldn't ride a motorcycle without a throttle lock. The Brake-A-Way solution is by far the best one available IMHO.

All the best,

Mark

i just use the cheapo throttle lock on both of my valks-30.00-35.00 each, because both of the middle fingers were amputated via a big diesel motor, so i can get along with this cheaper version. 2funny 2funny

What kind of grips do you all have. I tried to install with the grips I have and it just doesn't seem to work properly.

THEY ARE EASIEST TO INSTALL WITH THE STOCK GRIPS.  WITH AFTERMARKET GRIPS THEY WILL WORK, BUT YOU NEED TO ADD A LITTLE MORE TIME ALLOTMENT FOR THE INSTALL.

Have had 2 Vista universals, and 1 brakeaway over the years.  Brakeaway is so much better there is no comparison.  Better be, considering the difference in price......... Shocked

I have a brakeaway lock sitting on a shelf right now. It was on my Standard that got wrecked and I planned to put it on my IS, but never got around to it. If I ever get my cruise control installed, I guess I won't need it anymore...

Like everyone else said, this is by-far the best throttle lock you can buy.

I got it on sale @ DLP for $175, normally $199.95. It's expensive but  woth every penny to me. The quality and craftmanship is 1st class and made in the USA! As far as installation, I put it on myself and was easy once I threw away the instructions!  Grin

Goose you're right about allowing time for the installation and not gettinf in a hurry was the key for me. I have the thick Kury ISO grips and wide chrome levers and had no trouble. I put dish liquid and water on the grips and no problem! cooldude

You say it's harder to install with non-factory grips. I have these Kury grips. Can it be installed with these grips?

I'm with Valkernaut, my Vista Cruise has worked flawlessly for over 9 years.  At $30.00 a pop that's six Vista's to one Brakeway.

I guess it all depends on what you want. Yes Vista has made a good throttle lock for years. I personally love the highly polished stainless steel and overall quality is very well made...in the USA at that. I also love to be able to deactivate it just by touching the brake lever like a vehicle. Wink

Couldn't get the Vista Cruise on wife's Magna to stay adjusted.  She hated it, wouldn't / couldn't use it. My Vista Cruise had worked flawlessly for years.  Bought the Brakeaway for the wife's bike, and got one for me while I was at it.  Both work perfectly.  Cost a lot.  BTW, I found it as cheap as $125 on ebay.  That listing is still there, from an ebay "store".

I didn't get that deal.  I bought ours last year for around $180 ea.  That $125 price - NEW - is there right now.  Found it while updating My Valkyrie page at http://www.horseapple.com/Valkyrie/My_Valkyrie/my_valkyrie.html.  Just looked at it again - not sure this is the same one I saw before, cause that one was from a store, and there were many.  The one I find now is only one, and it's for a 1.5" handlebar (harley).
