Good used Interstate shocks are hard to come by-- has anybody thought of using Rocket III shocks

they are 12.5 inches and weight of Rocket III is comparable to Tourer and IS ( same Progressive model # for 430 and 440 )

Any opinion would be appreciated

Stock Rocket 3 shocks suck. They handled poorly & mine sprung a leak at 15,000 miles. Replaced them with Progressive 412s. Much better.
And yes they are the same as a Valk. Actually Progressive lists them as the same part #, not sure if stock Rocket shocks would be a direct bolt on. May have a different bushing diameter.

Stock Rocket 3 shocks would not be an upgrade for the Valkyrie.

Got a nice used set of I/S shocks on my '97 {Thanks Rick! Wink} & I am very happy with them.
I see them on E-Bay for sale quite often. Keep looking.  cooldude

I can confirm what TT says is true...stock Rocket shocks are as bad as they get.  I have 440s on both the Valk and the R3 and have been very happy with their performance.  Well worth the money.
