I and another member on this board just uncovered what appears to be a scam.  Following is the ad:

http://jxn.craigslist.org/mcy/2274571736.html

These lights have been sold....however it appears that they are being sold again....and again...and again....you get the idea.

Do not send this person any money!

Thanks for the heads up, nice to hear folks looking out for each other.
I for one would not click on that link for any reason, with it starting with "jxn" instead of any normal looking adress. Or am I missing something with my fear of erroneous looking links?

P.S. I am not in the market for any light bar at this time LOL 2funny uglystupid2

The jxn is simply a subdomain of the craigslist domain.  In other words, it a part of the craigslist system, usually a specific server.

Here's some more info in domain names.

Thanks SIR!

I have been in the network/PC business for over 18 years now and I actually have a clue (sort of) of DNS,,, but I have never seen a public viewable box with a naming listed like this. I know at Stanford we don't ever normally allow specific server/host names to be viewed like that publicly it kinda scares people and is very common when hosts are spoofed.

Thanks for you input it will comfort other as well as me.

On the other hand, I would NEVER click on a link that looked like this:  "jxn.craigslist.org.cn".  That would be a domain in China, and is a common way of spoofing a domain name.

Just a tiny amount of info can make a big difference!

If you are one of the people that sent this lady, person, money. It is important for you to contact Sgt Hunt at 5 one 7-4 six 7-4 7 3 7. He would like to talk to you. I believe he already has 2 complainants. The more he gets the better the case will be agianst her. Paypal has acknowledged that this person has been sent money but will not, for privacy reasons, discuss it, she had more than 1 craigslist add. I know of one person who sent her money this morning but it has already een refunded.

Jxn is an abbreviation for Jackson.

Well darn!  I missed out on the lights.  I guess I'll save my money for that Teal/Black tourer that I saw on CL.  It's a deal also.  uglystupid2 Grin Grin
