Have had 7 snow days this year!!!  :'( Now we will have to make up 2 days Ouch!! Being a bus driver has been very challenging this year. Did give me time to complete fork polishing and add progressive springs Thanks to everyone from past posts was very helpful. I used my muffler jig to spin fork while sanding worked well. Also have new ultimate seats on the way and adding hard bags to match bike. Looking forward to Izane!!!

We had 6 snow days in Atlanta. Have made up 3 and the buggers are dragging us back after Memorial Day weekend for the final 3.

Schools will be closed so we will be doing make work.

Waste of taxpayers money.

Jess

I had a box of 12" 3M automotive water sand paper got at yard sale. Used paint thinner to remove clear coat then started with 120 grit to remove machining lines. You will really have to work taper area and leave triple clamp area alone and make sure lines are gone or will really show up at final buffing. Had to add sticky tape to my after market turn signals due to greater clearance.  Then go up to 240 420 600 800 Then bought a packet from Napa of 1000 1500 2000. Better to have someone help with sanding but did most of it by myself have good batteries for your cordless and use low speed then I finished it with a gritty compound (lizard spit) and a final wax. Did lower part by hand.

Back at you maybe see you before Izane. We had about 2 inches wet snow then went to freezing rain. Better be able to ride for spring break!!! or I might move south.

Thanks, it is what I figured, a long hard process.  I will have my forks off one bike soon to rebuild, I'll wipe off the fingermarks....... but no polishing, probably.
