I try to wrench as much as I can to avoid the "stealer" and now have a fork leaking. Is there a way to replace them without diassembling the whole fork tube? I don't really want to deal with springs and stuff. After researching the boards, I found the homemade seal driver but the few links about replacing them are dead.

I did this on my GL1800 take some film and go around the tubes and get the grit out of there work the front up and down- repeat  this a couple times-it helped me did it about 20,000  miles ago and still no signs of leaking... :cooldude:0

I just replaced my fork seals. There is a good article on Dag's ValkyrieNorway.com site. It was a much easier job than I had anticipated. cooldude

DECKERJR......THE SITR THAT VALKER GAVE IS A REAL GOOD SITE TO USE FOR THE SEAL REPLACEMENT....DAG REALLY HAS PUT TOGETHER A COMPLETE INSTRUCTION GUIDE TO REPAIR/FIX ALOT OF THINGS THAT AT TIMES GOES WRONG WITH THESE BIKES.  I THINK YOU WILL HAVE NO TROUBLE REPLACING THE SEALS.  GOOD LUCK. cooldude

Thanks for the input. I tried the film trick months back but I think I only went up through the dust seals. How far do you work the film in to get to the actual seals?

Far enough to get a fair amount of oil flowing down the tube.
