They are VERY nice! Two questions: How much are they AND which stacks do they fit? Aren't there a couple brands out there? Thanks, Larry Gill in frozen East China Mi.

Changing out the chrome carb covers to the v-stacks shouldnt comprmise the choke at all. You simply take off the chrome covers and put on the v-stacks. use the same screws I think (its been a while since I did it) You might want to take off the choke cover (three screws) on both sides and try your choke. Maybe you put the covers on incorrectly. Wouldnt hurt to check.

I have a co-worker that has the stacks on his I/S and said there is a little mod that needs happen in order for them to fit... Spacers to lift the tank in the front a bit so the stacks clear the tank. He seems to think it was nessessary. I have been pondering putting them on my Standard. Those of you with stacks... did you raise your tank?

Need to raise the tank, or the stacks will hit the bottom of the tank. Not sure about the choke though? Bought my std. with the stacks on, cannot think why they would interfere? MP

I would have loved to have had those screens when I had the stacks on my bike. The lighting wouldn't have mattered to me but it really does look good. A couple of months ago I took the stacks off and installed filters in their place and really am pleased with the change. Since it's been winter time I haven't had a chance to get it out to show it off to anybody. I got the idea and instructions from folks here on the board so many thanks for the help! Probably gonna sell the stacks because I'm not likely to change back.

Jerry, Here's the link. I bought mine from Amazon back last October because I found them cheaper there. I paid $8.42 each for them then. I see that they are now $12.83 so you might want to do some searching around to see if you might find them for less. These are available in various colors but the colors are paper filters. The ones I'm using are stainless steel so water isn't going to hurt them. They are also available at some auto parts stores. But when I found them they only had one in stock in each store. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BPUR4I

Can you post a picture of that? I do the same thing when people as questions about the stacks or filters. Had a guy once who was mystified as to how the engine could handle the water that got sucked in there when I got caught in rain! I just told him that the engine was powerful enough that the water didn't affect it. He walked away shaking his head.

I guess they liked the filters but didn't have anything to run them on. Probably tried to install the three on a Harley and that just didn't work out. So they finally went back for the Valk! Either that or aliens zapped it up out of the garage!

Thanks Titan and others for the info and links. I've seen them on bike with the colored inserts. The stainless one look good and lights would really make them stand out. Hmmm - maybe my stacks will be going up for sale????

What do ya think? I dunno...I like these covers, but then, I'm all for chrome that serves a purpose, and NOT for chrome that doesn't, ala HD chrome...

It's not my photo. Googled for stock covers. Poop's on you... I don't have tranny covers, swingarm covers, or hanger covers. I DID have a set of hanger covers, that I traded to Mike, from Bling, for a set of FUNCTIONAL Cobra light bars. Try again?? R

OK, did find a pic of mine, not very good, but as you can see, no chrome that doesn't serve a purpose, either a tie-down, protection for $1000 saddlebags, or hauling a trailer, or lighting up the road. NO fancy, non-functional chrome goodies. But, that's just me... R

Has anyone had a problem with there choke working after installing their V-stacks? If so how did u fix it?
Take a look at the choke bar that runs just under the chrome horizontal cover along the carburetors. This bar is what ties the chokes together to act in unison. You'll find one bar on each side. Two things: 1) The bars have coil springs that help the choke (enricheners) to return to the off position. The springs have to be there and have to be reinstalled correctly after the v-stacks are installed. 2) There are a couple of spots where this bar may/will rub on the v-stacks if the bar isn't carefully bent in a couple of places to avoid the interference. If 1) and 2) are done correctly the choke will work perfectly with the v-stacks in place.
