Not trying to start another Oil War  I was at the Toyota dealer yesterday having my Tundra's oil changed and routine service and I noticed that a lot of the new vehicles had sticker in the window's advertising that they were running 0w-20w oil in the vehicles for reportedly better lubrication at start up and less oil consumption.

Just curious about others thoughts on this.

Hey Tom , my wifey's Toyota Corrola lists a 5 -30 wt oil year around ... I asked the guys at the dealership and they told me that the reason the Japanese engines need a lower viscosity oil was because of the close tolerances of the lower end and the improved designed oil lubrication system in these engines ... you never see a Metric Bike for sale ad that says rebuilt lower end and top end .... these Japanese engineers have these engines down to a science , man  cooldude ....  as far as your question Tom , maybe it might have something to do with where you live at if its a cool climate than the rest of us in the south  ...  just an idea ... Thanks the Geezer crazy2

I thought they may have had something to do with it too but I live on the Gulf Coast aka Gulf of Mexico. I can almost see the water from my house.

With the noise my Valk engine made running OEM oil, I can just imagine how it would be with 0w-20w oil   Shocked   Now it's Valk related  Cheesy
