I know now I'd rather wrench on my bike then on my truck

I needed to trim down a braided steel air line that I put on up in GA, that was the easy part. I fired my truck up to check for leaks and I heard a "pop" the serpentine belt broke.  I spent about an hour trying to get the dang new belt on. they told me it was easy all you need is a pry bar. I eventually ran a strap with a rachet to hold down the tensioner pulley to get it on.

I wouldn't touch the Mini with a ten foot pole. When you open the hood (er... bonnet) there's
nothing in there I recognize...

Tom, you need one of those flat prybars made specially for changing that belt. Has a short 3/8" socket head on the end so you can get it in anywhere. Bought mine maybe 20 yrs. ago, have only used it 3-4 times but it's a life & time saver when you need it. Pretty inexpensive as I recall.

the last serpintine belt i changed was on the wifes '99 windstar, front wheel drive, took about ten minutes.  hardest part was remembering where the darn pullies all were so i didn't get something running backwards!!

I probably should have specified the truck in question is my '07 international eagle. you'd think there would be tons of room under that hood, there is jsut not where I needed it

I couldn't agree more!
Sold all my race cars, hot rods, old pick up trucks {except for my '88 5.0 Mustang} 5 years ago & bought my Valk. Got sick & tired of all that wrenching for so little seat time. Haven't regretted it for a minute!
But now look, 3 Valks in the garage & a Spirit 750 too! 
I guess I'm a bit loony!
