Ground zero for this years ride in will be Days Inn at Missouri Valley, IA. If you attended last years ride in this motel is in the same area as last year. It is at the intersection of I-29 and Hwy 30, I-29 exit 75, on the west side of I-29 (instead of the east side like last year). I have reserved 10 rooms, 2 smoking and 8 non-smoking. Rates are $70.55 for a single and $71.99 for a double. The reservation deadline is the 8th of June, please be sure and email me when you make your reservation so I can keep track of how many rooms are gone so I can reserve more if needed. The motel phone number is 712-642-4788, tell them you want in the Iowa VRCC block of rooms (may also be listed under Craig Little).

Itinerary:

Friday night: We will plan on gathering at the motel parking lot at 5 PM and leave by 6 PM for supper at Quick Ricks Rib Joint (same place as last year). May stop for ice cream on the way back to the motel. Rest of the evening spent lounging by the pool! Make sure and bring your swimsuits!!!!

Saturday: TBA

Sunday: TBA

Stay tuned for updates. Last year we rode north from Missouri Valley, this year we are planning to ride south. Exact route is yet to be determined.

If you have any questions my email is bcs_ctg@hotmail.com. Please remember to email me when you have your reservation!

Which place?  If it's the day ride to Iowa, We have to get up early.  Maybe we can hook up with them on the road Saturday or Sunday if they are heading south.  Iowa guys, let me know when you've figgerd where your going south.  Ever been to Indian Cave state park in Nebraska?  There is a great breffus boofay at a truck stop just east of Nebraska City in Iowa where we could hook up. I know a great route to the park from there.  Hoser

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

I have received several requests for the start time on Saturday for people that are unable to make it in Friday night but want to join us for the ride. The start time will be 9 AM in the parking lot of the Days Inn in Missouri Valley.

That being said, if you have been following the events taking place along the Missouri river you are aware of the flooding situation. This brings me to a couple of things I wish to bring to everyone's attention. First, make sure and bring a helmet, our route has become somewhat fluid due to the flooding and may take us into Nebraska and/or Missouri which are both helmet states. Secondly, please pay attention to this site for updates, some which may come last minute, pending weather events we may have to cancel the event all together.

Thank you all for your interest, I'll keep you posted as best I can.

Hi Craig,

I'll try to make it up this weekend, if only to stop and say Hi.  Are you doing dinner somewhere Friday night?

The 4th Annual Iowa Ride In ground zero has been moved from the Days Inn at Missouri Valley to the Motel 6 at the Avoca exit on I-80. The phone number for Motel 6 is 712-343-6507. I could not reserve a block of rooms due to the short notice but the manager there told me that if you tell him you are with the Iowa VRCC he will try to get us together in the same area. He also advised that you should make your reservation prior to Wednesday if at all possible as their motel fills up quickly the later part of the week. Also, bring your swim trunks, this motel has a pool and we plan to make good use of it! I checked with Quick Rick and we will still be going there Friday night for supper, leaving the motel at 5:15 PM to ride there.

Sorry for the late decision but we wanted to see how the flooding this area will be experiencing might affect us. After going out there this last weekend and talking to people we heard reports of "the water won't get this high" from the motel people to up to 2 feet at the Days Inn from others. For safety we decided it would be prudent to move.

The block of rooms at the Days Inn have been cancelled as of today (Monday) so if you had a reservation there you should call them and verify it has been cancelled. The number there is 712-642-4003.

AGAIN: THE IOWA RIDE IN GROUND ZERO HAS BEEN MOVED TO MOTEL 6 AT THE AVOCA EXIT ON I-80 EXIT # 40 PHONE # 712-343-6507

AN ADDITIONAL NOTE: FOR THOSE RIDING OUT SATURDAY (11TH) WE WILL BE LEAVING FROM THE MOTEL 6 PARKING LOT AT 9 AM.
