Had to go out of town for several days last week for work (New Orleans, not so bad  Roll Eyes) so haven't been able to ride for about 10 days and needed to get out.  Yesterday I rode about 50 miles through desert and over to Box Canyon that curves for about 30 miles through some nice canyons and down towards the Salton Sea.

All the desert plants are blooming now for the spring.  Here is an ocotillo about 20' high and covered with little small green leaves and flowers at the top.  normally they look like dead sticks.  Even the cacti are blooming.

There are some great rock formations through the canyon and and just an occasional RV that went by.

Out of the canyon there is a lot of agriculture/farming.

Finally I rode back on busy 4 lane road dodging the cages as I went home.  The old girl was getting sort of anxious for her supper.

Only about 120 miles, but it was sure great to get out and ride in the good weather.   Grin Grin Grin

Thanks for the tip Mike.   cooldude  Didn't go there last week, but was staying only a few blocks away.  Heading back there next week for three days, staying in French Quarter, so will make a visit there one evening a high priority.

Did have some great oysters and seafood at Drago's and will probably go there again.
