December 23rd 2000... And just because I'm a geek and like matching things, here's that same odometer on November 6th, 2010... (Yeah, took me long enough, but I got 'er there!)

Bought mine new on March 3, 2000. Replaced my '81 Gold Wing Interstate that had 78K on it. I've added a bit more chrome - this picture was taken a month after I got it. Last time it was this clean.......

Bought my first bike March 17 2011! Its a '99 Interstate! I got in roughly 100 miles before it started raining and snowing and being so damn cold again! Its all I can think about when I'm at work, home and sleeping! I haven't been this crazy since I met my wife and that honeymoon has long been over!!

Got my 2003 brand new in August of 2003. Dealer on 11th Ave in Manhattan got it from a warehouse in Chicago after two other dealers said they couldn't get the bike any longer. List was $13,200 I think. Got it for $11,200 with windshield.

I rescued my '01 I/S from the Orlando HD stealership in August of '09. She had 48K miles on her then - 53K on her now. I'm worried that if I keep up this pace, I'm gonna wear her out in no time!

I thought of that... But forgot to write down what the trip odometer reading was before I headed out on the day I rolled the odometer over... Even toy'ed with the idea of Photoshopping it, but photochopping an odometer picture just wouldn't be cricket...

First, '99 IS in '05... 3400 miles (and around $5K in parts added).
Second '99 IS in '07 (also with a load of mods)... 24K miles.
It is a testament to the machine that we go looking for good quality used over any new bike on the market. I am poor now, but at the time, I could have had any bike I wanted.

I bought my '99 Standard new. Showed it to my wife a week before and she told me I could not buy it. She should have known better. It didn't take her long to love it as much as I, and yes, she has ridden it by herself.

Got out of the hospital from quad bypass on April 29th, 1997. MGM was in my garage with 23 miles on it on May 14th, 1997. As of March 31, 2011, he has 242K+, with no real trouble. Just as my license plate says, 1BFMC. This was a stop at cousin's in Rapid City, SD on the 1st trip the old boy was on. Trailer was in his garage. Got back from that trip, 40+ days on the road, with around 36K on the odometer. This is what was traded in for MGM. Yup, that was it's favorite ride, in the back of a trailer. That bike left me stranded too many times in the 3 years I had it.
