It's a long story so won't go into specifics, but it involved breaking a bike part, scratching something else, then losing some vital tax papers. The latter I discovered last night after 5:00 pm so couldn't call anyone for duplicates. That gave me a chance to stew over it most of the night. Early this morning I was on the phone and the first gal I talked to said "no problem" and would fax them to me. Oh Great!  Fifteen minutes later, instead of papers in hand I had a printout saying the connection failed. Oh Sh++! Tried two more times to no avail, so gave her our accountant's fax # and had them sent there. Next...called the acc't. to let them know it was coming.

My next thing scheduled for the day was a followup with the cardiologist. Just lovely....figured the way everything else was going the last couple days they will tell me to get my things in order. Not so. As it turned out, the old ticker is doing fine for an old fart. It's been nine yrs. since my triple bypass and the recent PET scan shows absolutely no blockage, ejection factor of 60%, the muscle is very flexible and handled the stress with ease. Also told me the areas where the bypasses were attached always create a buildup due to scar tissue, but in my case there is none. I was elated, so on the way home my wife and I stopped for a snack and when I got out of the car the door somehow caught my right hand and slammed on the thumb. DAMN---that smarted. Plus, the keyless didn't work for some reason and the door was locked. So I had to dig out the keys to use the remote...ever try getting the keys in the right pocket with your left hand. My wife suggested I choose different method of celebrating next time. As for the thumb...I feel every heartbeat, the "HAPPY PILL" is just starting to kick in.  Grin 2funny Cheesy Smiley Wink cooldude

You got that right.  Grin  Actually, my thumb is so painful I couldn't ride if I wanted to. Seems like it hurts from my elbow to the fingernail.

John - if you are overly concerned about that gorgeous Valk of your's sitting for too long while you nurse your thumb back to health - just let me know.

I'm here for you.  You'd have to twist my arm pretty hard, but I suppose I could maybe put a few miles on it for you.  You know - don't want those carbs getting gunked up.  Just say the word.

Seems like what really mattered (your heart) was the best news you could have gotten.  Better to have a busted thumb and a healthy heart than vise versa.

Today is a new day with a fresh start.  Here's to hoping it goes better for you.

Eddie......"My own worst enemy" is the same thing Rita told me when I was fussing about having to go for a regular 6 mo. check up at the cardiologist. I just knew he was going to start prescribing more drugs. He didn't and had nothing but good things to say. So I decided to celebrate by sticking my thumb in the car door when shutting it.   uglystupid2

Kaiser, I'll keep that in mind.  cooldude  And I'll take the busted thumb....as you suggested.

John - I truly hope that the remainder of your week is just top notch - sounds like you deserve it.

What a hell of a ride there John, sorry but I laughed out load, the keys wouldn't of been a problem for since I'm left handed, just good thing you didn't hit the panic button and have everyone watch you in your humbleness. At least the heart is good,I jump got a pet scan yesterday, waiting for the results, get the bike fixed up and take a ride!
