Do you have any experience with this lift? Guess I was curious if its worth the $135 dollars or not. Sometimes you get what you pay for and I would hate for my bike to fall because I tried to save some money on a jack that wasn't worth anything! I've been looking and the good jacks all seem to be in the $500+ range.

I have experience with their lesser cost lift (the one on sale for $89) and it has worked fine with the valk for years. Search "Harbor Freight jack", a few here are also using that one. I don't yet have experience with this one, but from playing with it in the store, it's got a stronger handle, easier lift, and better control of descent speed than the lesser cost one. With more bikes I need more jacks now, that and the sale gave me my excuse to buy this one

Old age must be the culprit-done fergot sumthin. On these h/f lifts-take the time to read the reviews. I get the distinct impression the print them all-goo bad or ugly. It may or may not help in the decision process. It helped mine but thats me. Not affiliated-no monetary gain etc-etc. RIDE SAFE.

If the aluminum lift works like the cheaper yellow one it's just plain weird to lower it back down. If you depress the release slightly it about dumps the bike. Depress it to the floor and it slowly lowers the bike. Kinda backwards I thought. I still like the lift for the price though.

I bought the aluminum lift, figuring it would be easier moving from garage to the shop, than the steel one. Lifted the bike one time with it, and took it back to HF, and bought the steel one. Just overall feeling, and gut instinct, didn't like the way it had "give" in all directions, with the bike on it. I would recommend NOT getting the aluminum one. And I am very happy with the steel one. Of course, until I got the lift table...now I'm happy with both!

Which table did you get? The 1000 lb one or the 1200 lb one? I've been considering one of those. Recommendations on it and accessories for it before I pull that trigger?
What do you mean by "give"? If the aluminum one "gives" or wobbles, that's a bummer and I'll bring it back after it arrives as well.

2nd question first - the whole thing just seemed "weak". Not only would it give front to rear, you could take the rear end, and "twist" it, as well. The whole thing had flex in it, and it wasn't designed to flex. Just didn't feel right, and I've been working on, and designing, machinery and jigs, for a long time. The steel lift is a LOT more stable. NO lift is going to feel like the bike is on the ground, but I really felt uneasy with the aluminum, and don't with the steel. Just my $.02 worth. As for which lift, it's the 1000 one. They told me they can't get the 1200, and that it is a close-out, discontinued model. And since I would be replacing either clamp, I chose the one with the $280 price tag. I replaced the chock. I posted a bit more, with some links, in a different thread, and here's a link to that thread: My thread with lift table info

Wow, how did you get it for $280? It's $499 from what I can see, Do they have sales or is there some discount code somewhere? $280 and it would be in my garage tomorrow.

Wow, how did you get it for $280? Did you look at the other thread? It explained it there... If you look around at any of the motorcycle magazines, there are coupons for either $299 or $279. A gent on the forums (Thanks, Jack!) sent me the coupon for $279. Well worth it, at $220 off. The clamp that comes with it is absolutely worthless...

I drilled a hole in the pedal and tapped it for a bolt making a stop, so I can manually limit the speed the bike comes down.

I have both, I use the aluminum one from time to time. The thing I don't like about it is there is only one safety stop... all the way up... nothing in between.

Sorry, I looked at the other thread, but obviously not all the way through it. Thanks, I have begun my search. So far all I can find is some guy on e-bay selling them...arg. If anyone knows which magazine currently has the coupon, it would be much appreciated.

Found it. In case anyone else is looking, it's in the back of the May edition of Sport Rider. All the other bike mags seem to have a coupon for the aluminum lift instead of the table lift.
EDIT: Also found a code that works online (30384259). However shipping is over $100 on it. Obviously better to use coupon in store if you have one nearby.
