Well, I’m working tonight, have Wednesday off, and I plan on getting all those little untied ends done on the cycle so that I can take her out on our 2011 maiden voyage!!  It’ll be over six months since I last rode that phat girl.  Can’t wait to feel how nice those new wheel dampers, drive shaft, and universal joint work!!  I’ll be checking out that cruise control system I installed, listening to the stereo with the old amp I put in, checking out if any of the additional LED’s I wired in burn up!!  Oh the joy of warmer weather!!

I’ll probably go over to my father-in-laws house and visit my parent’s old house to cut off a pear tree shoot so that I can graph it onto our apple tree.  This is something my father did twenty plus years ago to his pear tree, which now bears apples and pears!!

Sure, you southerners have all put on over 5000 miles already this year, but you didn’t have your last snow fall on April 1st!!

Lord knows, I need to ride!!  It’s been a long, long winter.

alph, did you steal my list of projects and manage to actually get them all done? coolsmiley

Just about 6 months off the bike for me also Sad and I am WAY so tired of NOT riding. I read your list and thought Hmmmm sounds a lot like my list. Although about a month of down time for me was due to my dirt bike misfortune that is still beating the HELL out of my right shoulder, probably wont forget that accident any time soon Cry.

Good luck hope all of your work pays off as you planned.

Alph, I feel your pain. Tuesday was my first ride this year. Only got a short one in though, it started to rain so I had to head for home.
The way I look at it, Every spring it's like riding her for the first time. (I usually play Madonna's Virgin song). It puts the ear to ear grin on.  Grin That's something those southerners don't get to experience.

My green and black comes out for new oil and a start-up
on thursday, as well.
It's been 5 1/2 fargin months. No wind. Riding to a bike
show in the big smoke on saturday.
Gonna have to put on my heavy gear to survive the cold.

After listening to the south crowd, only consolation is that
in the summer it's too hot for (lots of) them to ride.
So it sorta evens out.

Oh yeah, it was a very busy winter (I feel like one of Santa’s elves giving myself presents!!)  there's a bunch of other things I’ve done that I haven't even listed, something’s I’ve tried that haven't worked, something’s I’m still in the middle of!!  for example, I mounted a radar detector last year but couldn't hear it when it went off, so what I did was copy the wire tracings on the circuit board to duplicate the red flashing LED for the cigarette lighter (it's an escort 8500) and plan on mounting a red SMD LED on the top of my windshield, it's so tiny that you'll never see it unless you look very closely but is very bright when there's an alarm, it will be right at eye level, the wires are off of a solenoid coil, very fine coated wire, will not be noticeable on the edge of the windshield itself.  It all works perfectly but I NEED TO RIDE!!!  The other things I’ve done are combining white LED's with amber LED's for a combination turn signal/running light up front, it does work, just need to replace one base and that'll be done, along with that idea I mounted an amber LED at the tips of my handle bars that flash with the turn signal.  Added trunk lights, inside the trunk so when you open it you have lights, re did my fuse set up, added a strip of red LED's for break lights, replaced the tire stems with solid ones, HOLY CRAP, THAT IS A LOT OF STUFF!!  I just realized that!!
. ....Im curious. ....how does one graph a pear tree shoot....onto an apple tree ? ..  Cool
My father was a bit of a horticulturist.  He did the same thing in phoenix with a lemon tree that grew oranges!!  You have to match the types of trees, some work, some don’t.  I had a shoot growing two years ago but my father accidently trimmed it too close and it died.  I’ve got a picture somewhere, I’ll try to post it later.

I just got home from work so it’s bed time!!  BTW, there will be a video posted, i'm working on that too!!

It does even out with the heat we get in North Texas.  Some days, it's just brutal to go into the blast furnace and ride.  But we try different things in the DFW chapter, including at least one Midnight Run at the peak of the heat where we KSU at 9-10PM (when it's ONLY 90 degrees) and ride 100-150 miles to a Denny's or IHop, arriving at midnight then riding back and stopping out in the middle of nowhere, turning off all lights and reveling in the stars away from the cities.

Unfortunately, there is no equivalent for those rides in the northern climates.

IT ALL WORKS!!!

i have only one question about this cruise thing, why doesn't it kick off when i use the rear brake??  it works if i pull the clutch, or use the front brakes but doesn't if i use the rear brakes, and for those that don't think i checked, yes the rear brake lights come on when i use the rear brake pettle.  "?" don't get it....

Well, since it is the current going to the light that actually shuts it off, it sounds like you have two feeds to the rear lights, one from the front, and one from the rear.  Do yo have a relay or a "box" for led's in that circuit somewhere?
