As of 5 April, Ghillie + 1, Rainmaker, and I have signed up to meet the Houston group at Sodolak's for lunch at 1100.  Who else is planning to go?  Rainmaker will already be in College Station for parents' weekend and won't ride down with the group.

Where to meetup?  Which route to take?  It's 220 miles and 3:32 from north Frisco if we take Bing Map's suggestion of I-35 to Waco.  I-35 would also allow a secondary meetup in Hillsboro, if needed.  I-45 to Richland and down is 212 and 3:40.  Either would make an 0700 KSU work.  SuperSlab probably makes sense on the way down with a meandering / digesting / photo op route on the way back.

I rode a good route from Snook back to Dallas on Sunday. Lots of Bluebonnets out there. For the trip down, I'd recommend 45 to Richmond, then 14 to Bremond and to Hwy 6, Hwy 6 East thru Calvert and Hearne to College Station (don't exit at the first George Bush Library sign - go until you find University Drive/FM 60.  Take 60 south (right turn) thru College Station, past TAMU.  Snook is about 20 miles south and Sodolak's is on 60.

On the return trip, I'd highly suggest you go back on 60 and stop at the George Bush Presidential Library on the TAMU campus.  It's worth the trip.  From there, you can go on 6 all the way to Waco and then turn north on 35 or you can go 190 north to Madisonville and catch 45 for a faster trip back to Dallas.

For what it's worth, the route down 14 will be my main route down from now on.  Much prettier and nicer than the interstates.

I have to agree with rainmaker. It was a nice route. If I'm still in Irving then I wouldn't mind joining you all.

If you northerners would be so kind as to look briefly at the Bluebonnet 'n Bacon ride original thread, and verify your name's on the list if it should be there.  Or if I mistakenly added it, and you want it off. Thanks,  GJ

Gear Jammer suggests I-45 to Madisonville and over.  Bing maps says that's 233.5 miles and 3:43.  If HD Fred goes, a meetup on 75 and I-45 route makes sense.  If I'm riding alone, I'll probably go DNT south to 35 to Waco.  Hot shot down / meander back.  Either way, KSU at the house by 0630.

The plan now is to meetup with Garfield in the parking lot of 4Wheel Parts (bottom of DNT on the SB I-35E Service Road) at 0630 and then with Ghillie at the Whataburger, 215 N Interstate 45 Service Rd, Hutchins, TX 75141-4043 at 0700.  KSU at 0730.  45 south to 14 in Richland, then 14 south to 6 south to 79 west in Hearne to FM 50 South to FM 60 South to Snook.

All of this is contingent on the gale force winds dying down.  The forecast for tomorrow looks better than today, but if they revise it to much higher than the 15mph they currently predict, there is a good chance I'll take a pass.

I got a ton of last minute work and had to bail too. Guess that means Disco rode solo.

Yes, I rode solo.  That is, until I passed a big group of v-twins gassing up in Alma.  They caught up to me a few miles later, and as they passed, I realized I had given the "howdy" knowing nod to a pack of Bandidos.  I got off 45 in Richland, and when I gassed up in Mexia, a VNV MC rider on his way to Tyler told me that there had been a death in the upper ranks and that they were probably on their way to the funeral.

54 in Frisco at 0600.  Really cold south of Downtown.  Beautiful after the sun came up.  No headwind until I turned north.  442 miles in 11.5 hours topped off by great company and the extra small (16oz) sirloin...

I saw a couple of bikes ahead of me when I got to 45 off of 14 and took off after them.  After 10 miles of 95mph, got close enough to read "Bandidos" on their backs.  So I decided to back off a bit.  You just never know.

The "Bandidos" had a high ranking member pass away and the group was gathering near Humble yesterday. Lots of them in the area to pay their last respects.
