Anybody have a link and a recomendation for an electric fuel shutoff to work in conjunction with a pingle?

The link is the one I've been using with my manual Pingel for about four years now with no problems or starvation. When you install the Pingel, you'll notice the feeder tube in the tank is shorter than the OEM. That will result in much smaller reserve, which can be overcome by adding length to the feeder tube. A hobby shop or similar place will have come brass tubing used for fuel lines in model planes, cars, etc. Take your Pingel with you and get a piece that will just fit over the feeder tube. At home, lay the OEM and Pingel side by side and measure how much extra you want to add. Be sure to overlap the tubes a bit, cut to length and sweat/solder the extension onto the Pingel's feeder tube...same as you would sweat a copper water pipe fitting. You'll need to sandpaper the Pingel tube a bit to get rid of the finish, but mine has been trouble free for years. The in-tank filter screen won't fit now so you'll have to add an inline filter, and just be sure there are no low spots in the dressing of the fuel line. http://www.dan-marcrvparts.com/12vomufushof.html |

By the way, anybody know what the I.D. size is on the stock fuel hose without me having to take it loose and measure it?

The reason would be to remove the failing OEM diaphram. He could still have a shutdown, ie the diaphram fail, so the bike gets no gas, even with the danmarc open. By using it with the pingal, you leave the Pingal on, and use the danmarc to shut off the fuel flow. MP |

Or if it sticks open, with the Pingel open, you're back to square one. But I guess the bottom line is what makes the owner most reassured. |

If you install a dan marc with the stock petcock and the diaphragm fails, you could have fuel going down the vacuum line to cylinder 6 and end up with a hydrolock. The exact situation you are trying to prevent with the fuel solenoid. Marty |
