I used to be a wolfboy, but I'm alright NOOOOOWWWW

Took my Tourer out of storage today, changed oil,
went to start it. Diddly. Just heard the starter relay clicking.

Hold the start button for 10 seconds, clicketty click gets slower
til it stops clicking. I suspect it's battery low, ( I don't use a
battery tender), so I have found a set of jumpers, and a voltmeter,
headin back out to give her a jump while watching the voltage.

I know, keep the car off.

Any other advice?

Once ya get 'er cranked, ride it for at least 200 miles to make sure the battery is fully recharged.

(That 200 miles I mentioned is an approximation.)  cooldude

Guess I'm askin, is something else frozen up, like say,
the starter motor is toast/seized, and the starter relay
is just bouncing trying to start a blocked starter.

Seems less likely than battery down. Whattya think.

I seriously doubt it.

It'll take practically zero effort to try to jump it.  It should almost immediately fire if it's just a low battery.  I'd say that if it doesn't fire when hooked up to the car battery, don't force it.  THEN you could have a bigger issue.

If the starter motor is already toast, you ain't gonna hurt it any more by trying to fire it one more time.  Unless, of course, you are worried about being hydrolocked.  Embarrassed  In that case, pull the plugs before you try to fire it up.  If your bike looks like Old Faithful shootin' gas out of the holes - well, now you've got a whole new set of fun to deal with.  If not - I'd bet it's a low battery.

Thank-you for the help gentlemen. Much appreciated.

It was the battery. She fired right up when jumped.
It was a gel cell type, left it in the bike all winter,
no trickle charge.

That's the first time I've used a gel cell, won't leave
one of them out in the cold again.

Buying a new battery in the morning. Thanks again.
