Just found out I need a new cap. The rubber seal is torn. It looks like the one from a gold wing of the same years will fit, also the part numbers are the same. I can't believe it's worth 32. dollars at local dealer is there something else that will fit. I ride this bike everyday  so I don't what to wait for long to order online HDL price is 25 bucks. TIA

I replaced mine Tuesday, I scoured the Internet for a generic but didn't find any information on one.  I was shocked when the dealer told me it was $32.  I hope someone knows of a generic so I can add it to my parts list for next time; that is way too much money for a radiator cap.

I can't find one locally in the houston area. I'm gonna have to make the present one work until I can order one. It wasn't giving me any trouble just found the problem when I was getting ready to change coolant and engine oil today. Anybody got a share if mine goes out? We're gonna make the blue bonnet and bacon run next week come hell or hot water!

I'd never buy a used radiator cap, not worth the risk

Napa replacement for the 1500 'Wing, should be the same.

NAPA 703-1406

ETA: These caps are not round as the Valk's, but have the "ears" on each side. It's hidden on the 'Wings, so wasn't an issue.

I have a NAPA store about 3 miles from me I'll try there this sfternoon after work. I didn't know Napa carried radiator caps for gold wings and yes they are the same on the late  90s up till the engine changed to 1800s. According to eastside honda, Stubbs off of telephone road has the correct cap there. I'm going to Pasadena tommorrow for a new front avon so if Stubbs is open on monday I'll bite the bullet and get one from them. Thanks for  the offer Eli and I'll take you up on it if all other sources fall thru. Ijust wanted to change my coolant and engine oil and now everything has gone to sh##.

Testimonials are funny..  you don't REALLY know who wrote them BUT. . .

    here's a cap with a guage.    http://motorcyclesset.com/2001-Honda-Valkyrie-290.html

Anybody around here tried one?  I understand they have a 'new and improved' version.

I just ordered one.  Never hurts to have a few extra gauges!  I'll let you know how it works out.

These were a thread topic some time ago.  They were being sold on e-bay for the Valk for up around $100.  A savvy Valk rider pointed out that you could go to almost any auto parts store and find them in the "tuner" section for around $25.  Supposedly the little buzz bombs like the Honda Civic use the same radiator cap.

It's really pretty, but don't buy one for your Valkyrie.  It does not fit.   Sad

Anyone want to buy a like-new radiator cap?  It's really pretty.  The package has been opened, but the cap has never been used.   Cheesy
