Alternator brushes
«
on:

I have a 97 standard purchased new. I am having problems with alternator charging. With meter hooked up it would charge part of the time and part of the time it would not. I removed alternator and upon inspection of the brushes found one broke in 2 pieces, thus causing the intermittent charging. My question is does anyone know what kind of alternator this is and can brushes be purchased from local auto parts house and if so what partn number.

I bought replacement brushes from a Honda dealer(Had them in stock). Not to difficult to remove & solder in the new ones. If you already have the alternator removed, that's half of the hard part done.

If you have Napa stores near you, or one that can x-reference. These work on the 1500 'Wing alternator.
