Rain Gear

So I finally got my Valk out in the rain...yesterday.  First time I needed to go somewhere and it was raining and I didn't have 20 other things I needed a cage for. A couple things I noticed...
1. If I wasn't convinced of the darkside, I certainly am now.  Driving through standing water at 60mph is normally a very spooky experience, at least on past bikes but I sailed right through it and didn't feel squirley at all.
2. The Valkyrie interstate was NOT really designed for rain protection.  I got more soaked yesterday than on similar rides on other lesser bikes. 
Conclusion:  I need a rain suit.  If you've seen me I'm not small...so I need something that is oversized.  I had a frogg-togg 2-piece suit but the pants are now more chaps...first time I threw my leg over a bike with them on, the seam in the seat ripped almost all the way from front to back. 
I've looked at a pair of $80 wind/rain pants at REI and I figure if they are wind proof to 60, i should be alright with a heater b/w my legs. 
I've also got a pair of cheap PVC pants that work but are so hot and unbreathable that I've actually ended up cold because I sweat so much. 
So...I'm open to suggestions....help!

Motorcycling rain gear is best as it's designed for the wind and rain. I've used Tourmaster for years (with Frogtoggs for light stuff), but there are lots of good brands out there. For our neck of the woods, you definitely want something with vents in it to help with the heat.

I know what you mean about Froggs.  I'll show you my "chaps" version of Frogg Toggs (and the redneck engineering fix) tonight if you make it.  You gotta hitch 'em up pretty good when you're the size you (and I) are.
