My wife and I were celebrating our 7 year wedding anniversary, so we hit the road Saturday.

We hopped on the bike to head nowhere in particular. We wound up in a nearby town at at transportation museum. The museum celebrates Grier Beam's Carolina Freight Company. They had fully restored trucks from 1927 until the 1970s. Big beautiful red and black trucks. Mostly Macks, Chevys, and Whites. All beauties.

If you're ever in Cherryville, NC then check out www.BeamTruckMuseum.com.

They had this cool motorcycle picture hanging on the wall.

My wife and I were making small talk with the volunteers at the free museum when I realized they had brochures for another similar museum that was an hour and a half up the road. We had nowhere to go, so on the bike we hopped.

Away we went to Bennet's Classic Antique Auto Museum.

Another place that ya'll might appreciate if you are in the mountains of NC.  This is just down hwy 74 from Ashville. Besides a roomful of cars, trucks, and tractors this museum also has a few scooters and motorcycles.

It was a nice day. After a few hours on the road heading nowhere we headed back into town for ice cream. The skies were turning dark but on we rode. We headed to a store to let my wife shop. While we were in there the dark skies let loose. I don't mind riding in the rain but a jacket would have been nice. As we left the building the wind was blowing limbs through the parking lot with waves of water.  My wife was not excited to give that a ride. I was still game. Then the hail started. I decided to prop against the store front and waited out the hail.

The ride home was wet and cool, but overall it had been a good day. It was a nice way to spend our anniversary.

And I was thinkin' I'd just cruise for a while
A fork in the road brought a new episode
Don't you know...

Conform, go crazy, or ride a motorcycle...
