Thunderbolt, My auto parts store vacuum caps for the intakes are not holding up. I like the Honda caps much better (thicker) I cannot locate them on the Honda fiche, do you still have that Honda part number? I will be making a Honda Direct order here shortly and will add them to it. (I owe you one)

. . . not to steer anyone away from Thunderbolt but you might want to check these out on eBay. I went directly to their site to buy and am really impressed with their few products for Valkyries. (I'm not affiliated with them etc . . .)

I had the same problem with the auto parts store variety vacuum caps. Both the thick black rubber ones & the thinner more plastic feeling red kind. They either came off or got a hole sucked in them in a short time. Got the OE reproduction ones from E-bay, I think Red-eye Tech or something like that was the guys name. Works great, even has the little pain-in-the-ass wire clamps to hold them on. He sells all kinds of Valk hoses & gaskets, bought a bunch of stuff from him. Good guy to deal with.

That's the guy, BonS! Top notch fellow to deal with too. He has petcock hoses, intake O-rings, & other stuff too. He will combine shipping. I recommend him.

Thunderbolt, BonS, X Ring, Thank you all for your responses. I was racking my brain trying to remember, I knew there was something better out there. (Redeye) That's what I love about the VRCC Doctor_j, you posted before I could spit out my reply (non-computer fingers) Thank you too!

I found the parts store caps to be lacking as well, so I ordered six of the OEM ones from HDL.
I had the multicolored assorted pack of caps from the autoparts store. Since I had them on-hand and knew the HDL order wouldn't be in for a few days or a week, I installed the right sized caps, and then put bigger ones over the already installed ones. That was around two years ago, I still have the OEM caps in my tool box.

get the ones made from hypalon material. better than the vinyl type http://www.jegs.com/p/JEGS/1042835/10002/-1http://www.warco.com/polymer/hypalon.htmlhttp://www.niedner.com/en/encaphyp.aspxDupont developed Hypalon, which is a Dupont Company trademark for chlorosulphanated polyethylene for the automotive industry. Its heat, oil and chemical, and abrasion resistance are still today unsurpassed with the exception of some of the new and exotic silicone and fluoroelastomers.
