To avoid embarrasement, keep an eye on this.  Luckily only me and Judy saw it...Going to Daytona and back I had to keep a rag handy......after 75-80mph stretches there would be some oil leaking, well not leaking cause Valkyries dont leak oil, but somehow, there was a small amount of oil mysteriously appearing on the valve cover near two of the cover bolt heads.  I removed both, cleaned and just for fun switched them.  One stayed dry the other didnt.........so I ordered all new rubbers (the piece that fits under the chrome cap that sometimes sticks to the valve cover when you take the bolt out).........at first I replaced the bad one, all was well.......today a noticed a drop of oil on the opposite head, changed that one........then I decided what the heck and did all twelve.  No worries now  cooldude

These bike are getting older and rubber bits shrink up and get harder..........mine is a '97 so this could be the beginning of some embarrasement if yours starts on the way to bike nite........

part# 90542-MB0-000

cost me around $30 from HDL

chrisj cma......the little rubbers you speak of serve two purposes...1.) they seal the bolt so oil doesn't leak out, and 2.) when you tighten uo the bolts that hold the valve cover on they are compressed down, and kinda put reverse pressure against those same bolts, and keep them tight.  after awhile they get hard and brittle, and don't have the ability to do the above very well anymore.  i replace mine about every 5-6 years.

Jeff......

Where'd ya get them?  Fort Walton Honda/Yamaha have them in stock, or did ya have to order them from Directline or somewhere?
