Looking for lightweight rain gear. Jacket and pants, something for summer riding. Something that packs down real small. I am 6'2" and about 240#. Any suggestions? Other than go on a diet . Thanks

Frogg Togg warning. Wrap the lower legs with duck tape so as to keep the exhaust pipe from burning a hole in them. I've used them for several years and only problem I have had is the boyz seem to get wet........ They roll up into a very small tight bundle. I carry them in the rear part of my right saddlebag. Up against the back panel and to the bottom. Reach in grab and put em on if needed. They have all kind of coverage of the body. http://www.froggtoggsraingear.com/?gclid=CP7DrciLqqgCFcW5KgodjjehIg

I like Tourmaster (though I hear Nelson Rigg is good too). I think there's more utility in 2-piece suits than a coverall (which give me fits putting on, and ride up your private parts). Nylon (or PVC) stuff doesn't breathe and can be pretty miserable in hi temps, but mine stays on the bike year round and has kept me warm when I miscalculate the days temps. Get stuff big enough to go over your winter gear (it all looks baggy ass anyway)..... no one likes to put raingear on until it begins to rain, and you're always in a hurry. It's easy to rip out the pants. Doesn't pack as tight as Frogg Toggs, but will last a lifetime, unlike Frogg Toggs (which I think do breathe a bit, and are made of hi tech paper like Tyvek house wrap). http://www.motorcyclegear.com/street/raingear/2_pc_suits/tour_master/defender_two_piece_motorcycle_rain_suit.htmlhttp://www.motorcyclegear.com/street/raingear/2_pc_suits/

Frogg Togg's new "Horny Toadz"...their new motorcycle rain suit thats made with their new fabric called ToadSkinz...feels like a regular polyester rainsuit, but has the breathability their regular rain suits have. I have ordered mine and waiting for it to arrive. Sold my expensive HD polyester rainsuit and hoping this new rainsuit is all I'm thinking it is. http://www.froggtoggs.com/#outerwear/motorcycle/NHT65115/Dave

I have a pair of rain pants from Cabelas. Zip all the way up the sides. Easy on and off. Also a zippered fly. A little expensive but worth the money. Have a pair in each bike and my wife has a pair also.

MUCH more rainworthy than the old ones - which I wore out two of the old sets. They don't pack as small, but they hold up to wear and rain much better. I also installed ironing board covers on the legs, on my old Frogg Toggs, due to melting on the hot pipes. Now I have COOL pipes - my new 5" pipes have an inch or air space behind them - don't melt anything, so I didn't bother with the ironing board covers on the new rain gear. RJ - Get a sheepskin seat cover, and sit on that when it rains. It will prevent the water from running under you. No more wet johnson and the boys. Hang it up overnight, will be mostly dry by morning and ready for another wet day. Did this on our Canada trip last year - didn't even need to put on the pants, on the Wing, as long as I had either my new Frogg Togg HD jacket, or my Joe Rocket. Leather chaps and waterproof jeans from Work Wearhouse, and a good leather jacket so far (by the time I realized I needed the rain gear, it was generally way too late). I bought a cheap breathable nylon rain jacket at the bike show in January; armored shoulders, elbows and spine. I'll try it this summer as the leather jacket gets pretty warm in July. Fred.

I prefer german military surplus goretex from surplusguide.com I use this at work as a Trash collector, and have a spare set for riding. VERY durable... Stands up to 10-12hrs out on the rain.
