What has anyone used to hold the pinion cup to remove the nut inside. I don't want to buy the Honda tool for a probable one time use. Spline are getting a little worn after 160,000.
Thank John

With mine we just hit it with an impact wrench and it came right off - nothing special needed.

he's right....impact wrench on, impact wrench off. works like a charm. by the way...if you took it to a honda stealer, they would use an impact wrench on it too.

see there...if you had taken it to a dealer, and had handed the final drive off of the bike he would have told you to come back in a couple hours. when you came back to pick it up, he would have told you that he worked on it for 1 1/2 hours and charged you150 bucks.

I did talk to the local dealer who wasn't sure about the special Honda Tool to remove the pinion cup but he did order the Holder and will have it on hand if needed at a later date.
