Rode to Shady Valley today. Good ride, good weather (except for
the wind) and hardly any traffic. If you've ever seen my Valk you'll
know I'm not exactly a "shine and polish" kinda guy. I do at least
try to keep it shiny, though. One thing, however, that really bothers
me is a dirty windshield. (I'm the same way in a car) Coming back
from Shady I splattered a big juicy bug top dead center of my
Memphis Shades w/s. Just couldn't stand it!! So at the next decent
parking lot we pulled over and I grabbed the Honda polish and microfiber
and cleaned the whole w/s. Pulled out and hadn't even reached 5th
gear before I splattered another one!! Angry This time I decided to
leave it on there as a warning to other bugs. Apparently it worked!
I've been using Pledge to clean the Valk lately and I think it helped
the bug guts come off easier. Seemed like it anyway.

Rode the ST1300 to meet my sweety at work to carry her out to lunch yesterday. On the ride down the bugs were heavy and my face shield had to be cleaned as soon as I arrived. I hadn't got back out of the complex she works at when another bug kamikaze'd in front of my right eye. It's like the li'l critters plan it that way.

You guys should move to AZ. It's too hot here for bugs.

I have my Flip camera mounted behind my windshield. On one ride last fall I had a bug commit suicide right dead center of the camera. It was easy to tell the last thing that went through his mind. Got to watch it for the next 45 minutes.

When i was still driving truck-somewheres along bout midsummer got some hard shelled somethings or other that would richochet off the windshield at speed. Sounded like a piece of gravel bouncing off the winfshield but could see it was a bug. Always wanted to slice one open after the hit and see how much internal damage was done. They didn't splatter-just bounced. RIDE SAFE.
