But it IS a requirement to demonstrate age and citizenship to become President. You have to be 35 years old and be a born citizen of this country. The ONLY thing you can't blame Obama for is that he's the first one they actually asked to prove it......but it still is a requirement.Sure it's a requirement. But there's no one to show it to. What person or agency checks every candidate when they announce they're running? Until some agency or government position is appointed to check these things, he doesn't have to show it to you or me on demand, any more then your neighbor has to show his to you. OK, stick with your line of thinking, and this is what you get.....2 years of garbage. My way, it's done overnight.

Ken Starr wouldnt have drug him over the coals and impeached him which polarized the nation. then the libs wouldnt have tried to retaliate against GWB with a vengeance which in turn polarized the nation even more and on and on

President Barack Obama's Forged Birth Certificate Revealed April 27, 2011 Well, and then theres that........who wudda thunk it LOL! I could give you a list of at least a half dozen names without taking a minute to think about it.
It's evidence that people will believe what they want to believe. It's not at all evidence that what someone wants to believe is true.
It's amazing how few of the "aha! moments" in our lives involve our seeing proof that changes our minds. I guess we really need that sarcasm imoticon...........

Dont know I would agree that I am a birther, but in that I dont totally trust the validity of these documents ok, Ill be a birther........BUT SE as far as your hateful comment about race. For me its about him being a socialist not the fact that he is half black.....he could be white as snow and if he was selling America down the drain to other countries that "needs our wealth more than we do" Id be just as against him as a white guy

RACIST?? Your generalization is a pretty lazy (and canned) response. I guess it's what we should expect from the far left... For me, it isn't about race at all. I don't care if he's PURPLE. He needs to be a natural born citizen if he's gonna be president. If the question arises, PROVE IT! Don't cover it up for over two years when the solution is so simple and easy. (Makes me wonder what else he's hiding as he heads the "most transparent and honest administration ever..." ). BTW, John McCain was asked for HIS BC to verify his eligibility to be a presidential candidate. He produced it within days. (Racist? LOLOLOLOL -- or I would be, if it weren't so sad, pathetic and predictable.)

I aint gonna even respond to that......coming from you. Don't matter what color the man is.......he lied to get in office, he caters to our foreign enemies and he is wrecking our economy beyond repair.........I'll try me best to keep his misdeeds in the forefront till after the next election.....and hopefully my grandkids just might be able to live a decent life. You keep kissing Obama's butt like you are if you want to. You are probably a recipient of one of his giveaway programs.

Similar to a company investigating a new hire BEFORE he comes on. If you don't believe the president is qualified, vote him out. Better yet, prove things and go impeach him.

I thought that I had heard a tape of his before. Quite a few entries to you tube on him. Their are several black men who I could support for President but just as some very qualified white men they choose not to run with good reason. I could be labeled a birther as I felt the issued needed to be addressed and then put to bed. But to address SE's issue is a whole new subject. Call it the labeling of Americans. You can't take a stand on your beliefs without being put in a box and everyone else telling you what you "really mean" and "really believe". The tea party is the classic example where people outside the movement wants to tell everyone what they are all about. Some people have done just as SE did and said tea party = racist. Some people exist to be divisive and some people exist to improve the human condition. Most of us fall somewhere between these two extremes and it's not to hard to tell when someone is getting really close to one end or the other of the spectrum.

By your own standards he was required to produce this document over two years ago. Or weren't you paying attention to what you were saying?

What a bunch of crap. Actually, he did produce the standard birth certificate issued by the state of Hawaii...2.5 years ago. The problem is, that wasn't good enough for some folks...even though it met the requirements of proof, was totally legit, and had been verified by several independent sources. Knowing he couldn't satisfy those who would not be satisfied, he ignored the noise on the fringe...until that noise started infecting normal people.

uh, wow. I am not a birther by any means, never doubted his citizenship for a moment, but I take offense to that comment. It seems your opinion is "anyone who doesn't agree with President Obama" = racist. Doesn't surprise me, since a lot of libs who can't fathom anyone disagreeing with them tend to mark their political opponents as racists, homophobes (a very amusing, made-up word), narrow minded, elitist, nazi, right wing crazy, etc. It's pretty common. A lot of people have posted on the internet that the minute you call someone a Nazi in an argument, you have already lost. I would have to add that the minute you call someone a racist, you have lost. I have no doubt at all that there are blacks who are "birthers". I don't like our current president because I think he is an elitist, he's divisive, has no leadership experience, and is way over his head as president. I don't care if he's black, white, purple, or plaid, I don't think he is good for our country. And yes, I am gonna flag your post. I think it's derogatory and hateful. And pretty low. I am gonna add one more thing. SE, I don't think you are a racist. but I do think you are a bigot. Judging by other posts I have seen of yours on the internet, you seem to think that people from the South are all racists and xenophobes. Personally, I would prefer we had an ignore button on this forum.... bigot: one who stubbornly or intolerantly adheres to his or her own opinions and prejudices

The good news is this "racist" thing is getting old, I think the general public blows it off now. They are going to have to come up with some new catch phrase insult before the 2012 election. "racist" is all worn out. The funny part is my sister in law was a die hard conservative until this union issue in Wisconsin, in a matter of hours she flipped to a lib, just one issue, instant lib. And she is the most racist person I know. She works at the county jail. So I'm 100% sure the libs have racists among them, I know a few personally.

The (later to be called) birthers were especially enraged since the man is a bonafide war hero. So it's been "payback" time ever since. The President is releasing documents. Go prove them wrong. In the meantime we should ALL ask just how in the hell have all these presidents gotten in over the years with no BC check?

Or right, as the case may be. We, the People have the authority (and the responsibility) to do exactly that. We should have done it over 2 years ago!) BTW, the democrats DID fire the first salvo -- Hillary's campaign first raised the issue of the citizenship status of her democrat opponent: OBAMA!! McCain, by contrast, when challenged, produced the required "long form" document, removing all doubt. Can you say "transparent?" I knew you could... How did all the other presidents get in with no BC check? Well, until this one (with the possible exception of Andrew Jackson (look it up) there was no reason to question it. Had other candidates been challenged I would have expected them to produce the documentation (regardless of the color of their skin). As I said above, HILLARY's campaign raised the question initially. Does that make Hillary a birther? Or a racist? or both?

very well said elraque! That (to me) is what the tea party did for America. It reminded many normal (well maybe not so normal lol) but average Joe's that our elected officials work for us! If we want to see proof they should be there dag nab it we stick with it until the proof is shown.
I think there are many other things people (like the kind that would be a tea party member) are going to remind the boneheads in Washington of......like The Constitution...read it! follow it! Like its not your job to make sure someone that cant afford a house has one anyway!
And bottom line ITS NOT YOUR MONEY quit wasting it

Some believe him, some don't. What good does it do for him to present this publicly? The moment he released the document his naysayers were saying counterfeit. This from folks (like me) that couldn't tell a good fake from the real deal if their lives depended on it. Yeah, no reason to question other presidents background. Since they weren't checked how would you or I know where the heck they were born? Let's check them all from here on out. I have not yet met a single democrat that questions the presidents status. Maybe they're out there, but I don't know any. I do know a heck of a lot of McCain supporters that want blood for what the Democrats tried to do to McCain. Last thing. Who are you, and what's with your snippy attitude? I'm trying to treat you as a gentlemen. I'd appreciate the same in return.

It may have been the "birthers" picking initially, but the polls demonstrated that the longer it dragged, more folks wondered. They wondered if he was really a citizen, and they also wondered what he was hiding. Obama dragged this out, nobody else.
Only if you define "folks" as Republicans, especially conservative ones. The "birthers", recently led by Trump, are the ones who dragged this out, by rejecting the same certificate that is accepted as legal proof of US birth by every other agency. I know we aren't supposed to call people names but if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck then you must be a duck! Or maybe your just an imbecile that quacks.

Chiefy:
Sure, "We the People" should have a government agency to verify the status of potential government employees...(sarcasm intended) Should we also have a government fox watching our henhouses? To me, the two proposals are equally absurd.
As president Reagan said: "The government isn't the solution, the government is the problem." Another government agency won't be the solution. Our government needs to know that it ultimately answers not to itself, but to the people by whose grace they have their jobs.
Sorry if I sound snippy to you... just trying to confuse the issue with a few facts. Apologies if your sensitivities are offended.

BIRTHER = RACIST. It is that simple. Black man in the White House. Birther issue great foil for those that don't like black man in the White House. Like Digger.
Personally, I would prefer we had an ignore button on this forum.... bigot: one who stubbornly or intolerantly adheres to his or her own opinions and prejudices awe don't let WEAK SPARROW get under your skin.......or was it Stong Eagle......whatever.....he just threw the racist card in there on me to stir the pot.........nobody listens to him anyways.

What was the purpose of this post? To shout out to the world you can't spell? It takes two to tango. Morons who questioned an official state health department document, and a stubborn President who refused (until recently) to play the game.

Sensitivities aren't offended, not a chance. What some see as facts, others see as opinions, just the way it is. So how do we make sure this doesn't happen again without it turning into another circus? President Obama has submitted two documents. Some accept both of them, some scoff at both.

Its hard to accept anything from a man who misrepresents facts, issues, and situations so often and so drastically that you have to work very hard to not call him a big fat liar. If it wasnt for that maybe the documents would be easier to "swallow"

So how do we make sure this doesn't happen again without it turning into another circus? President Obama has submitted two documents. Some accept both of them, some scoff at both. One of the reasons that this has not been a problem with past presidents is that (mostly) their parents were pretty well known (Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, both Bushes, etc.). In some cases both parents and grandparents were both well known and still alive. In Obama's case his parents have "made themselves scarce," so to speak. Papa abandoned the family either before or shortly after the baby was born and hasn't been much heard of since. (Is he even still alive?) Mama was a "world traveler" and an avowed anarchist. (Is she even still alive?) In both cases both the citizenship and the national loyalty is demonstrably questionable at best, and that questionability seems to have been transferred to the boy through training and education from early childhood through his alleged college years. In the case of both parents neither one was particularly well-known (nor actively patriotic with respect to the USA) nor available to verify the birth and birthplace. Subsequently the man's entire history has been clouded, obfuscated and sealed ("by whom, and to what end?" we continue to ask). I can see profound differences in this president and past presidents, and legitimate reasons (other than race) why these questions have arisen and will continue to arise until they are definitively resolved (like, by eyewitnesses, people who knew him... Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dorne come to mind...) As I indicated earlier, similar questions arose surrounding Andrew Jackson, who produced evidence that his parents were legal immigrants and naturalized citizens, and that he was born to them in the USA, making him a natural born citizen and eligible to be president. Obama has not been nearly so forthcoming, so the questions have not gone away. Maybe if the words "open and transparent" had the substance of BEHAVIOR behind them... (Yeah, and we might start making gasoline out of unicorn flatulents, too).

So, are you adding "schooler" to your conspiracy bank, or replacing "birther" with it? ??? Obama released his official birth certificate in June of 2008. What is not as forthcoming as that?

I thought that I had heard a tape of his before.
Allen West?? He just has his dissenters arrested. Not like the town hall's where the tea party screamed and yelled, and totally disrupted the proceedings, that the elected representatives had to cancel engagements... What a GOOD choice to illustrate your point...

I gots cojones But I can think of at least 4 black men, and one or two women for whom I would vote for any office they ran. But of course none of them is a socialist/Leninist, so I'd guess there are those who would consider that racist

I know many people that arent white. The ones that dont make skin color an issue, I dont even think of them as a a color (white or not) Without exception the ones I know that I think of them as ___________(fill in the blank) its because THEY make it an issue and then you have to be sensitive about it. Obama makes it an issue (under the table) He has been quoted as saying the only reason he is not for blacks all getting slave repairations is because that doesnt go far enough. His redistribution of the wealth I guess is supposed to do more. I think Obama is a racist. I dont think that makes me a racist. Me thinking Obama is a racist is not why I dont like him in the Whitehouse.....its the fact hes trashing the country. he appologizes for our country and he doesnt deserve to lead a countery he doesnt believe in. I dont agree with his philosophy of "change" Its Socialism leaning toward Marxism........I dont think that makes me racist, it makes me a freedom lover and a defender of American Freedom. Obama is a threat to freedom

I certainly would vote for a good, conservative black person, or any other color. I do not like the one we have now. It has to do with his policies and beliefs, NOT his skin color. Of course, I am now a racist, since I disagree with him. Sorry. MP

Obama released his official birth certificate in June of 2008. What is not as forthcoming as that? Regarding the school record, they are a mere curiosity to me, not a qualification to become president. Nonetheless, the president's "PATTERN OF BEHAVIOR" has been to obscure, obfuscate, seal and otherwise impede access to ALL his records. That evokes suspicion in me and in many others -- why does he seem to be going to such great lengths to hide so very much about himself and his past while seeking the highest public office in this great land? Inquiring minds want to know... I'm just not willing to drink the Kool-Aid. The man hasn't earned my trust. Regarding the BC that was "released" in 2008: Questions continued to arise. In response to the questions Obama spent $Millions to obscure, obfuscate and conceal. That isn't forthcoming. See my reference to Andrew Jackson and how a REAL patriot and American responds to such questions. He puts them to rest without delay, without reservation and without obfuscation. When someone seeks the office of president of the United States of America they seek a position in PUBLIC office and PUBLIC service. The people have the right to know that the candidate's qualifications for that office and their character are above reproach. Obama's conduct has been less than forthcoming and certainly has not been "above reproach." And his character (IMO) has been questionable, to say the least. If you think the standards of the American people are high (unreasonable?), look into what Diana had to tolerate and endure before she was determined sufficiently "above reproach" to be able to wed Prince Charles.

As I posted earlier, I don't care if he (or she) is purple. It's about character and policy. And behavior.
