Lots of wind and rain here, plus some thunder 'n lightnin'... Nice show, actually, sat out on the patio with Napper and watched it. No damage, and all is well... Some of our comrades had it much worse, though, so still keeping a good thought for them.

We are all good here in Laurel; I believe we were up to 9 dead last night in MS. We had some horrific tornados come through about 35 miles north of us (near my cousin's house) where 2 were killed. There were pine trees down all over the Louin area. This morning we have cooler temps and a clear sky. The radar was crazy from LA all the way across MS, AL and GA yesterday. I have never seen so many watch boxes on the tv screen. Even the people on TWC were amazed!

Prayers for all our southern bros and sisters.

We have been lucky here in NE Indiana so far, just tornado watches and high winds.

Northeast TN. 16 dead in our area. Some not too far from
Shady Valley, more down towards Greeneville, just to
give you an idea of where the worst was. I've lived here
almost all of my near 50 yrs and that's the worst storm
I can recall. Some rain and hail but a LOT of lightning and
wind!! 6 separate storms, one right after another, came thru
here. No damage to my property (we took care of that
before the storms got here angel). I think the closest actual
tornado was 8 miles or so NW of us. That was the last I saw on
tv before it went out.

I was awakened at 12:45am to the tornado sirens going off...... Shocked......a tornado warning for my area was issued, but the tornado went Southeast of me.....I got the Wife out of bed and Lucy the Chihuahua was having a fit.....I was watching the local ATL stations to see the path of the storm and was ready to jump in the indoor closet if it had of gone over us..... cooldude...thankfully, we only got an inch of rain and some wind.....

My hometown of Mountain City, GA in the very NE corner of GA got hit with a tornado though....my Family up there are ok, just lots of trees down and power lines too....the Lake Burton area on the West side of the County had a tornado touch down first....posted a video of that damage in the Cullman thread....

Northwest GA and NE GA's tornadoes were from that same line that swept through Birmingham.....
