I am adding J&M driver/passenger headsets for use on my 2001 I.S. and I'm stumped about the passengers jack. I'm told there should be a PTT (push to talk) button included on the OEM jack/cord mounted below the passenger seat. Mine does not, do I need a PTT at all for the passenger? Is there suppose to be a PTT on the OEM jack, or am I getting BS'd by the retail outlet selling me this stuff.
Do you need a PTT on the passenger headset at all, or is it controlled through the communications system.
Would anyone know what I need to hook up the passenger headset properly??

Thanks

the push to talk switch is for the pasenger to be able to talk on the CB. if you don't have a CB the switch is not needed..

To talk back and forth, just plug both into the bike's system.  On my IS, the passenger plug is along the left side of the fender, just above the bag.  The mike's are always on, so no need to have a PTT switch.  IF you have a CB, and you want the passenger to be able to transmit on the CB, not just listen, then you need to install a PTT switch.  It attaches under the right side cover.

What helmets are you using and what J&M headsets? I have the EXO100 half helmet by Scorpion. I have talked to J&M about what might work on the EXO100. They recommended there HS-BCD284-HJH-HO.
