Have a 12 by 24 building framed up where I hope to move before the end of the year and will need to set it up for the man/bike cave/shop and want to see pictures of what you have done for best use of your space etc. This is a chance to brag on your setup and show us all where you do your wrenching. Thanks in advance, Dave

LOL yeah Hoghead....my first wife wanted the bike out.......I delayed and delayed building a shed..................fast forward 2 years.............When I was dating Judy (current wife) I brought her to the house the first time and when she saw the bike there she says......."you park the bike in the house?"     Im like, YES, is that ok?  and she says"I wouldnt have it any other way"  She ended up suggesting we park the pull behind trailer right next to the bike so its there too now.

I knew she was a keeper right then  cooldude

I'm just a poor country boy.....no big fancy garages for me......I used to park the Green Dragon under a low lean-to on my storage building....I had to fold the radio and cb antennas down every time I parked her.....SO, my Wife bought me this small 10'x10' canvas shelter for Christmas one year...it took me two years to finally get around to getting it put up.....I framed a foundation for it....paid some guys to pour the concrete.....I added a piece of conduit sleeving to the corner for when/if I ever frame a wooden building to match my woodworking shed that sits beside it.....but I actually think I may just add two feet of concrete to the back side and use the 12'x12' size that they make.....kinda tight inside with the size I have now.......we only have a 1/2 acre of land and my Wife says I'm not allowed to add ANY MORE buildings back there!!.... Cheesy...(Pssss, don't tell her, but I may add a 10'x10' greenhouse where the garden sits now).... Wink Wink

Anyhow, I actually like the way this little Dragon Lair works....the color has faded to a lighter gray now, but you can replace just the top part if necessary.....been up for 3 or 4 yrs now?....

I added one of the Harbor Freight motorcycle chocks by using the .22 shell  concrete nail guns to fasten it to the center of the shed.....

I don't wrench on her very often, but it is a level pad and beats trying to work on it on the un-level driveway in front of the house.....

And here is my head mechanic.....Mike "sure I'll come practice on yours first" Marshall..... cooldude......He's always been willing to come lend me a hand with servicing the bike....and he works cheap....for Taco's..... Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy.......Thanks Mike..... cooldude

Not much room in this 24X30 garage anymore.    Keep moving more sheet in and nothing out.

The handles sticking in the air are about as deep into the pit as you can get now without crawling over something.

Vell, I done lost some pictures somewhere.    Guess that is what I get for having them spread all over God's creation.     Can't find nothing when ya want it but tomorrow I'll find them all.

I now have a cover for Esmeralda, but still no protected area for her. I do have two of those 10'X10' pavilions that I can set up down there in the lower driveway, but that's it.

I LOVE my shop! 28 X 40. "Gee, honey, stay the hell outta my shop! Why do you think I bought you a house??".

Thinking seriously about extending the one side, another 10-12 feet, first as a carport, then walling it in, over time. Tired of my Chevy sitting outside, and mamma gets the garage, for her mowers and stuff, and HER car. Just time and money...

Guess I never have realized how fortunate I've always been. At the very minimum, I have had a carport, and a small storage shed, for every bike I've ever had. Can't picture ever leaving one parked outside, more than a night or two. I fell into my shop, when the lot directly across the street from me, came up for sale, and I had some bucks from my dad's estate. Sad, because he would have REALLY enjoyed the shop. He and I talk all the time, over there...

My Dodge Ram gets to sleep outside now when the lady needs attention!  Otherwise they sleep together!

The little man of the house saw me working on my bike and came and parked his next to mine.  I was told that one of his training wheels needs work and I better get on it!   I wonder who the boss is sometimes. Wink

I don't have any pics of the shop. It's not quite the way I want it yet. Been building it as I can afford it for the last few years. I'll get some pics soon I promise.

In the meantime check out this other forum that I found when I started the build. http://www.garagejournal.com/

Tons of good info on garage ideas. Try motorcycle in the search and be prepared to spend some time there.

Here is one thread of just motorcycle shops I found real quick.

Not affiliated etc etc. Don't think I'm breaking any rules posting links to other forums but if so I will delete asap.
