...i think i already know how most folks will respond....but..........
first, i absolutely MUST replace the shield on my 97 Tourer....12 years old...99k miles. it is SOO bad...the other day...while riding home...i could barely see the road due to all the haze/scratches/lines in it (plus...it's a bit too tall for me...since day one.........)
so, i was looking at the Clearview replacement shields....and i think i'm going to get one for BOTH Sherry and my Valks. i like the grey tint...and i'm thinking about maybe going with the optional vent on it too. and...i'm going to get one the RIGHT size for me...the one that is two inches shorter than stock (no more looking THRU the shield....like in the rain!).
now for YOUR opinions. how is the quality of the Clearview? i can get the tinted....two inch shorter than stock...with vent....for about the same....as a HONDA line replacement that is clear, no vent, and stock size (too tall for me by and inch or two).
is there anything wrong with the Clearview? How is the fit? Does anyone have the VENT? does it work ok? Look ok? any reason NOT to get the Clearview? THOUGHTS????
oh, where is the most reasonable place to buy the Clearview, should i decide to...which i think is going to be the advice most give me to do.........

My clearview is about a year old, is holding up great, and I'd get another one in an instant. I got the one that is four inches shorter than OEM, and I'm always looking over it... I'm 5'11''... -Mike "milking that $5 picture for all it is worth "

+1 Clearview. Get the vent and the light tint. Height so you can just look over it. I hate looking thru them.

ClearView is the way to go. I too, have purchased the 2" shorter than stock in the light tint, and love it.
The only thing to be aware of is that the ClearView is 'thicker' than OEM, and I found that getting 1/8" longer bolts, for mounting the stays through the shield, made the job a bit easier. Sticking with the stock bolts, was an exercise in frustration, and I gave up until I could get the longer bolts.

My clearview is on an IS, but is grey tinted and has the vent, it is 1" over stock and wider. The tint is very lite but helps with night driving. The vent is fantastic. Coming home from HotGlues, when it got into the mid 70's I opened it fully and was catching a nice breeze in the chest to chin area which helped take heat away from the helmet. When I got close to home and hit driving rain it was great being able to see over the top of he shield. Thicker, and cleans with Plexus.

+1 on the clearview windshield. I got one on the i/s that is 4"wider and taller. Works well because it dips down in the center so I look over the top. Have the light gray tint and the vent.tint is almost not noticeable and the vent works well. One will be ordered very soon for debs tourer and also for the vtx 1800. Will not regret.

A bit of a drift (sorry).
You guys that got vents on IS shields....I wonder why, given the vent under the shield on the fairing??
Mine is more trouble than good, and is plugged with foam....until hot weather.

I have the ClearView xtra large w/tint and vent on my I/S. Love it. Use it for cooler weather. Change back to the original (which I recently replaced) in the summer. I look through the ClearView and over the OEM.

RedValk, Your in Alabama, It's hot and hotter, kinda like Florida...get the vent! You can always close it on the ONE frigid winter morning. I prefer to look over as opposed to through, as many seem to here also. However friends have the full size and look through it, and it really is Clear, will be a huge improvement over your old stock one which ever height you choose! As far as tint, (personal opinion) looks good on a windhield with a painted fairing, otherwise it stands out too much and just doesn't look right. (my flawed opinion)
