“Dragonfly” became mine on 18 March. When I first rode her home from Laughlin,
we hit the most challenging weather I have endured in a long while.
The inaugural 270-mile ride home will be sorely remembered.

Since then, Dragonfly is continually cleaned and increasingly dressed up.
She's been ridden to the store and around the neighborhood.
By now, she has passed all check ups with flyin’ colors… She’s solid.

Finally, on Tuesday I installed shorter progressive shocks, a 1.5” rear-drop.
Since coming home back in March, I had lugged less than 100 miles.

However, Wednesday 27 April turned out to be a nice-riding day in my neck of the woods.
So, I decided to road test the effects of accessories such as the Batwing,
the lowered rear suspension and the current MPG.

• As I knew, the Batwing’s performance is nothing short of spectacular.
I’m not a windshield guy, but somehow this one belongs there. I love it!

• I am surprised at the sure-footed and controlled suspension characteristics
she now comports with shorter shocks.
She exhibits better manners than OEM under all conditions and speeds.
I was expecting a stiffer ride… but not so.

As an added bonus, I can now sometimes touch the ground. When reachin’ for the sky,
I am 5’6.” When sitting at the curb my feet dangle.

• MPG/CONDITIONS: She drank 3.275 gallons on a 126-mile ride.
I rode her gently… no hard take offs, no sudden acceleration, never faster than the
posted speed limits.

Here are pictures I took during my first real outing two days ago...

• Planning installation of Car tire. Got estimate of $110 out the door for the job,
including small but necessary mods to the rear fender’s underside.
• Remove OEM rear light fixtures in favor of smooth fender w/single "Beehive" retro-light
that illuminates license plate.
• Existing hard-bag-light fixtures will function as signal and brake lights.
