Any day that you ride is a good day!

The weather was almost perfect and the views were good....

Ravens Roost MM 10

Wig Wam Falls MM 34

Overall the day was very enjoyable......

There was one incident that got my attention, I had just passed one of those silly looking decreasing radius turn signs:

When I encountered a Park Ranger with multiple bikes on the side of the road.

I figured that one of the bikes had missed the turn but none of them seemed torn up and no-one seemed overly concerned so I figured that the rider was OK.

As I was riding along pondering this, at the next turn I encountered a cage in the middle of the road "backing up" towards me.

Agressive use of the brakes in a turn can be very unerving and I normally wouldn't reccommend it.

However, this time I had no choice.

After alot of brakes and alot of horn the cage and I stopped less than 10 feet apart.

Then the driver angrily motioned for me to go around him as if I was in the wrong for being there.

I resisted the urge to give him the Ole One Finger Salute or to call him a few choice names mostly because he was elderly.

But, I did "shoot" him a look and gave him the "You Must Be Crazy" nod of the head as I rode past him.

The strangest part is that if I hadn't  slowed down because of another rider's misfortune I would've been going 10-15 mph faster and may NOT have fared so well.

just my kind of place.  Any good RV parks anywhere near?  We are going to Cheaha on the 12th of May and leaving on the 15th.  Haven't decided where exactly do go next.  A few years ago we stayed near Wytheville and did some day riding around that area.  Was thinking about maybe a little farther in your direction this year.  Might just stay in N.C., as we want to be near Columbus N.C. around Memorial Day.
Might depend on fuel prices.  Truck gets 11-12 mpg towing the toyhauler.
Can't beat the BRP, and I have never been to that end.

By that time the Campgrounds on the BRP will be open.

They are very reasonable and there are several to choose from in this area.

The only downside is that they are all first come first serve........ No reservations.

If you do wind up in my neck of the woods, give me a shout I'll be more than glad to show you around the backyard.
