It has been a long time since my last post, but I visit here regulaly. Last Sat as I was coming home, I got hit from the right side and went down big time. I destroyed my riding gear, but it will be replaced by the insurance co. (Progressive). The orthorpedic trama surgeon said that had I not been wearing motorcycle racing boots that provide superior foot and ankle protecttion, there was very real possibility of losing my lower leg due to multiple compound fractures. And yes, the kid that hit me had been drinking and said that he did not see me! My riding Jacket is the hi-vis neon yellow one from Olympia. No upper body damage, just a severely bruised lower right leg.
The insurance co. found the bike and is having it moved to a secure site abd maybe can look at it soon and start the repair process.

I'm sorry to hear this.  Prayers for a full recovery.  With some time, the bike can be fully replaced too. Listen to the doctors.

I have a hard time with that statement, he may not have his vehicle covered by the insurance company, but I doubt that the liability to other vehicles would be canceled because he was loaded.

I have been wrong before, but maybe one of our legal eagles (not you SE) will comment.

NAVYCHIEF, glad your doing well after that, hate to hear it.
