I work at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Tunnel in Virginia. I live on the north side of the 19 mile span, and a car is provided if you are assigned to the south side. Whenever I have to go south and there are no thunderstorms threatening, I ride the IS instead of taking the work car!

It had been a real stress reliever.

I ride most days, the only time I get to take the cage is on my wife's day off. But I love Fridays, cause we work till noon and the commute traffic is gone. Today I rode to work in 67 degree weather. Rode after work to get a haircut. Rode without the helmet, to home to let the cuttings fly. Went home, had chicken fajitas, took a shower. AND THEN THE RAIN CAME DOWN!  Had to shout over the rain!

Absolutely beautiful riding weather all this week.  Rode to work last night.  Stars out, about 70 and low humidity.

Rode back home this morning.   Beautiful clear skies, 62 degrees.......took the long way home.  Had to wear a jacket.  I think thats the first time I've worn a jacket since early last spring.   Smiley

Think I'll take the long way to work tonight.   cooldude

Worked an overtime shift last night, so I rode the GoldWing in. Warm during the afternoon on the way to work. High 90's. OT shifts are shorter, about 9 hours vs. the usual 12. Got off at 1am and had a great ride home. Still in the low 70's this morning. The Wing needed gas on the way home, so I stopped at a Chevron close to home. I still think its cool that you can buy gas at 2am at a closed station with your debt card. I like no one around me. I have a safety meeting this afternoon, so I'll probably take the car in so I don't show up all sweaty..... Sad  But for the rest of the week I'm on the bike.

Won't be long now another month or so will have to be putting the bike up for the year here in WI.  Low temps at night coming home at 11 p.m. are hovering around 40-50 degrees but sure has been one nice hot summer with very little rain all year long.  I bet I put another 1500 miles on the bike this year going just to work thanks to no rain.  This has saved me about 4 bucks per day or a tad more than 1 gallon of gas vs. taking my truck to work all those days.

See,  the Valkyrie is a gas sipping saver and just because it only gets 35 avg. mpg, sure beats almost all other 4 cylinder cars out there especially my big V8 truck.  I usually stop riding when temps at night get consistently at 40 degrees since my turn signals seem to not work going home those last few weeks of riding in late October.  Would electrical contact cleaner help by taking off the left handlebar housing and spraying/cleaning up the contacts of the turn signals?  Maybe even just spray the turn signals with electrical cleaner safe for plastic from the outside and hope some cleaner gets inside the housing???

42 this AM, chaps, gloves and liner. Foggy as heck.

Rode almost every day this summer. Only missed on call weeks, the week it rained, and 2 days getting a new Metzler on the front.

Was a balmy 33 here and I had to drive the truck to work to pick up two repaired deer camp cots from my bud Jim. Looks like rain in the forecast every other day this week.  Cry

Got to ride in today for a very short shift this afternoon. We had our annual hands on fire training

today. 4.5 hours of OT since this was my day off. Smiley  Rode my GoldWing, weather was very nice

today, high 70's,  not near as hot as it has been lately. Actually starting to feel a little like fall here

in southern California. 'Bout time too. Took many backroads home to avoid the Friday evening

traffic, which can be brutal. Nice ride. I stopped and filled the tank on the Wing......$21.63!!!

OUCH!  $4.59 a gallon...... Sad

36 degrees here this morning and rained all night. If the sky's not leaking when I step out the door I'll be on the scooter. Will only be my 2'nd ride to work this week, can't pass it up if I don't have to.

Rode Tuesday-Friday.  Perfect weather Friday. Off at noon, drove to home and stopped for a haircut.  No better way to get all those little hairs off you than a helmet free in-town ride back to the house.  Thursday when I came home, wife said, lets go eat! I said OK and she said On the bike! So we went down to the mall and had some spicy chicken sandwiches at Chic-fil-a.  Neither one of us changed, I was in my office slacks and button up shirt and she was still in her office wear.
Now some may wonder why we didn't put on some jeans and t-shirts, but you know,,, at this time in my life, I really don't care.  I wear what I want, just like I ride what I want.

Rode all week this week.  Temps on the way in were in the 60's and the ride home was in the low 90's.  Awesome riding weather.

Rode to work for an OT night shift on Friday afternoon. It had rained here on Thursday and it looked

like more rain on Friday. The rain held off and it was a nice cool afternoon. The ride home was chilly

this morning. Low 40's and still dampness in the air. I bought a pair of BMW

AllRound boots over the summer to wear fall/winter/early spring. So far so good. Great boots. My

feet were nice and warm on the way home this morning. Haven't checked the water proof -ness yet.

I'm sure I will though. Even the other so called "riders" at work think I'm crazy. I think that's

a good thing....... Smiley

Rode 4/5 this week. On the day the morning temp was 46F another rider asked if I had brain damage.  Heck, most any rider can handle 46 if the ride is only 20 min at highway speeds.  Nice thing about the ride home, upper 60's and mid 70's are great to go home in.

I rode down 21 to home on Friday. Leather jacket was not needed, but I left it on. I like the drive since it is tree covered and less stressful than the interstate.  This sure is pretty country.

Another 5/5 this week. Near perfect weather for riding.  Stopped by dealer today and another guy was putting on his lid and had a big wide smile.  He said, "God, I love this time of year!"  I said, "Yep, perfect weather for a ride."  Nice to see someone that happy to ride.

LOL!  Welcome, James, to the world of the mature.  We could probably handle it better if it just came when our bodies were younger.

I only go into the office thrice per week, but each way is sixty miles.  I rode in all three this week and on the work-at-home day I got to ride downtown for a briefing.

Some great weather, some a little on the cooler side.  It's that time of year again.  Smiley

It happens to me about every couple of years for the past ten our so years.  Like a Charlie horse in my back.  Still a little sore, but not hurting any longer.

BTW, it's Jimmy on my birth certificate and drivers license.  My dad's name was Jimmy too as well as my son, Jimmy3, or the third as we call him.  Smiley

Didn't ride to work, but to my local Star Wars meeting with my son.  It was only about a mile away from my house so it was easy to convince my wife to let him on the bike.  A friend from inside shot this photo when I was turning the bike around to park.

Rode in for a Sunday night OT shift. Left Sunday afternoon with it being windy and cool and overcast. Looked like it might rain.  The rain held off until my shift was almost over, about midnight. So I got off early but had to ride about 20 miles in the rain on the way home. Then it quit and got windy and cold. Stopped at the top of the Cajon Pass to put gas in the bike and just about froze! Still a good ride, and better to get off early...... Smiley

Sixty-nine degrees (F) when I left the house.  It was like a Spring morning.  Anyone in eastern Kansas that didn't ride to work today should surrender his motorcycle endorsement.

Jacket, Chaps, helmet, gloves and neck wrap in the morning.  Can't wait until Friday, jeans day. Means  I usually can ditch the chaps. 46 in the morning is too cold for slacks.

This time of the year really deepens my belief in GOD.  Giving us this show as a promise that winter is just another time period and that spring will be back soon.

The colors were absolutely great on the ride home after work.

36 this morning, I got to get a new winter suite. The zipper broke on the leather pants.  Chaps just don't get it done at these temps.  My snowmobile suit is more than a little snug and it is not comfortable anymore. If I was 200 lbs it might still fit.   Sad
