Wizard, Early Bird and I were headed to lunch yesterday.  Stopped at a gas station to take a break, and a woman asked me if the bike got better mileage than her car did.  I asked what her car got - 22.  I said our bikes do get better than that.

So she says that with the price of gas, she'd thought of getting a motorcycle to save gas.  I pointed out that they're  not cheaper to ride 'cause they don't go straight.  Then explained that where she might go to lunch with 3 people in her car, we're on three bikes which brings our cumulative fuel economy down to about 1/3 of what one bike would get.  Plus on a bike we tend to take longer routes, using more fuel.

Never got around to mentioning the fact that folks don't usually make a 150 mile round trip just for lunch unless they're on  motorcycles!!

Scary sight, hope it wasn't a prediction of the future !

All true!  But, she could also save money since she would no longer need a therapist appointment each week.  cooldude
