Picked up a 1999 Interstate this past Monday with 35k miles. I purchased it from the original owner, he  kept it in meticulous condition. Came with a hitch and trailer and looking forward to logging some trips in the not so distant future.
My previous bike was a VTX1300 and it was great but this Valkyrie simply blows me away. The shear power and smoothness of this bike is just amazing. Cruising at 75-80 mph was effortless.
I will have to get used to the attention getting factor of this bike. I honestly had more people come up and talk to me about the Valkyrie in one day than I did in five years with the VTX! One guy didn't believe me that it was 12 years old and another couldn't believe that it wasn't a custom bike.

Welcome to the madness!!!   Cheesy  There's plenty of members in your area to ride with and help you with any questions/problems that may happen.  Go to the Shoptalk section and read the FAQs.

Congrats on the bike from a fellow 99 IS rider and STL Resident.  Looks like you have a nice bike there.

Drop me an email at JoeValkIS@Spirit-1100 if you ever need help with the bike.  I will gladly help all I can.  I am not a master mechanic but I have turned wrenches on several Valks.

Maybe we can get together sometime soon to ride.

Welcome aboard to the board.
It took me a year to find out where the throttle stopped. You're in for surprises every time she says "lets go". Enjoy the love affair.

Welcome Welcom.  I'm new here as well (ok.. I've been here more than a month now.  A 2000 IS landed in my lap.  I'm learning quickly about what I have.  LOTS of knowledge available here.  Remember, A SMART man learns from his mistakes... a WISE man learns from someone elses mistakes.  The first thing I learned here is "There is a LOT to learn here."

+! cooldude
I was told mine was always very well cared for which it showed on the outside. I had maybe 500 miles left on the back tire before I pulled it to go darkside. When I pulled it it was dry. It's not that hard to pull if you watch Dags video and will be worth the effort when you start pricing parts. Great bunch here with tons of info. Last but not least NICE looking dragon.

Didn't know they went that slow.  j/k.  WELCOME!
