Picked up a 1999 Interstate this past Monday with 35k miles. I purchased it from the original owner, he kept it in meticulous condition. Came with a hitch and trailer and looking forward to logging some trips in the not so distant future. My previous bike was a VTX1300 and it was great but this Valkyrie simply blows me away. The shear power and smoothness of this bike is just amazing. Cruising at 75-80 mph was effortless. I will have to get used to the attention getting factor of this bike. I honestly had more people come up and talk to me about the Valkyrie in one day than I did in five years with the VTX! One guy didn't believe me that it was 12 years old and another couldn't believe that it wasn't a custom bike.

Welcome to the madness!!! There's plenty of members in your area to ride with and help you with any questions/problems that may happen. Go to the Shoptalk section and read the FAQs. Marty

Congrats on the bike from a fellow 99 IS rider and STL Resident. Looks like you have a nice bike there.
Drop me an email at JoeValkIS@Spirit-1100 if you ever need help with the bike. I will gladly help all I can. I am not a master mechanic but I have turned wrenches on several Valks.
Maybe we can get together sometime soon to ride.

Welcome to the insanity-Mostly in a good way-mostly. Good lookin scoot. Yeah-iffin ya don't want all the attention-give her to me-i can take the pressure Anything-and i mean anything you need to know about these wonderful machines we ride is available on this board. Lotta experienced people who have been there and done that. Your will find out after researching it and no answer ask the question-you'll find it's cheaper thataway. Unless you have a truly fantastic dealer-we tend to shy away from them. O-k off the soap box and back to our regurally scheduled programing. RIDE SAFE.

Welcome aboard to the board. It took me a year to find out where the throttle stopped. You're in for surprises every time she says "lets go". Enjoy the love affair. X-2 on the hub lube. Get the 3 "O" rings.

Welcome Welcom. I'm new here as well (ok.. I've been here more than a month now. A 2000 IS landed in my lap. I'm learning quickly about what I have. LOTS of knowledge available here. Remember, A SMART man learns from his mistakes... a WISE man learns from someone elses mistakes. The first thing I learned here is "There is a LOT to learn here."

Drop the rear wheel and check that everything is lubed up. Meticulous onwer or not. +! I was told mine was always very well cared for which it showed on the outside. I had maybe 500 miles left on the back tire before I pulled it to go darkside. When I pulled it it was dry. It's not that hard to pull if you watch Dags video and will be worth the effort when you start pricing parts. Great bunch here with tons of info. Last but not least NICE looking dragon.
