I don't want a "Google Calender" and just want to check up on a coming event?  How did Google get involved with our Calender of Events anyway?...JTL

Well, James, I either have to hand code the homepage and any related event pages for every single event we have listed....or I can list our events in our Google Calendar.  I have a little code on the homepage that dynamically pulls the event date/name from google so it can be viewed.  It has nothing to do with money and it doesn't cost us anything.  It just saves me hours of time I don't have to spend creating/updating webpages manually.  I just log in to the calendar, list an event and it automatically shows up on the homepage.  You don't have to HAVE a google calendar.  Its been that way for several years now.

I am not the most internet/computer literate person on the board. I do have google email address. How or what do I need to do to have the VRCC google calendar sync'd to my google calendar?

Thanks.

I think you can add a friends Calendar.  Add the calendar from vrccstaff@gmail.com and it should send us a request and I'll approve it...  Not sure if this works for sure, but we can try.

Thanks Scott for your explanation and thank you for all the time you dedicate to the VRCC.  With all the things that we are asked to join or a new program which is supposed to improve my "computer life" that suddenly appears these days, it just makes me somewhat skeptical of things when they change and there is no way around it without signing up.

Smokingjoe, you do not know me or anything about me.  If you did, you would know that I am anything and everything except a "free loader".  I pay my own way or I don't go and I can't remember anywhere that I have wanted to go in the last 40 years that I did not go.  As it turns out, you were wrong on two assumptions...JTL
