Hey to all ! Today I went & got a new Personalized License Plate for my Valk. It takes about six to eight weeks for it to come but it is ordered. Yesterday I had to take six A.S.E. exams (those of you who are Auto Mechanics know what I'm talking about...been taking them since 1973...DANG!) so I requested today off (vacation day) & I was thinking..what can I do today? So, I went to the Colorado Motor Vehicles Department in Lakewood & ordered a new License Plate. Did not take very long either. Was in & out pretty fast. Then I took a nice ride. It snowed Wednesday & Thursday here but it was nice & sunny & warm today. Well, it did not really snow... it was a rain/snow mix. Roads were too warm for it to stick which is fine with me don't ya know? In the mountains west of us it snowed pretty good...Mountains really look nice today. By the way, "HAPPY FRIDAY the 13th" to you all. Our IRON BUTT ride is coming up on June 18th...can hardly wait for that. Denver to Billings, MT & back...all within 24 hours. RIDE YOUR BIKE TO WORK DAY is coming up on (Dang...I forgot the date). I ride to work nearly every day anyway. Oh well, I hope you all have a nice week-end & get out & ride. Ride safe too. tommy t

Really cool pic!! Favorite color combo on the scoot. Color of the signs in the background add a little extra color... same as the scoot. Been to Estes Park... kid lives in Loveland. Love that black and yellow.  sheets  cooldude (my plate: 2DAWIND)

Gonna keep this Tag info to myself. The mountains really look good today. Go to Estes all the time, it's one of my favorite rides out here. Have you ever been over Trail Ridge thru Rocky Mountain National Park? I hope they open Trail Ridge after Labor day... never know...depends on how much more snow they get up there I reckon. Have not kept up this year with the snow they got up there this year. I think Loveland Pass is still closed...Over 14,000 feet up there. Lots of snow up there this year. Looks like your Pic was taken in Yellow Stone National Park... I have taken Pix there at that spot too. I was in Yellowstone one year in August or September & it snowed. Pretty cold at night too. Great ride thru Yellowstone also. Glacier National Park too. That's why God made motorcycles. Cannot beat the Western U.S. for scenic rides. Did the Smokey's a couple of years ago & it was great there too. Europe is on my BUCKET list. I was stationed in Germany in the fifties...would like to go back with my Valk someday. Ya just never know. Thanks for replying y'all. tommy t

My plates are easy to remember.

Mom's Highlander:    Purple Heart - P0001 - This one was issued on a Lottery
My Dakota:              Purple heart - P0002 - Was 1st to apply for PH.
Chevy Trike:             Purple heart - P0003 - See below
Valkyire:                 Personalized - 1BFMC
Trailer:                   Personalized - TOURN

P0001 & P0003 were both issued to someone else and were turned in.
At the time of the Lottery for #1 we were told if any # was given up, we could
apply for them as a Numbered Personalized plate.   $25.00 initial fee - 1/2 of
the $50.00 normally charged.

So, I'm waiting for P0004 to be turned in and the trailer will get it or the Valk.
Wife wants me to get rid of 1BFMC, she knows what it really means.  I told
the DMV it stood for - 1 Big Friendly Motorcycle Club - that was the VRCC.

Stupid idiots bought it.

Hope to have P0001 through P0005 by the time I'm done.   That will be a plate for each heart I have.

It's really not a secret. I see someone in a differet state has it too...Hope it doesn't bother him. Obviously, no one else here in Colorado has it. When I get it I will post it. Pretty simple one tho. Went for a ride this morning...about 80 miles is all. Kinda chilly out & very overcast. Maybe the weather will shape up here by June...I hope. Good one day bad the next right now. Well, gotta go do some chores to keep the wife happy. Ride safe. tommy t.

Obviously, no one else here in Colorado has it.

Don't be too sure of that iba1990. It happened to me in '89 in Illinois.

I had ordered personalized tags for my new Toyota SR5 4x4.
Please, no heat on this. I took enough, at the time, being a rank & file member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union. Who's BA's had hung a banner in the hall well before I bought it. That banner pretty clearly condoned damaging any imported vehicles parked in their lot. I parked it many times with never a problem though.
I assume it was out of respect for my work & that I shared my proprietary methods with apprentices.

Anyway, in a Chicago suburb of 45k, I knew about 80% of the LEO's. One night I was delivering some boxes as a favor to, none other then, one of the PD dispatchers home. She had given me a key to the garage.
While I was locking everything up a patrol officer was sitting at the curb watching me, I didn't know this one.
He took off. A few minutes later I'm surrounded on a divided 4-lane with guns drawn.
Long story short my plates were registered to a Chevy Blazer 300 miles down state.
Illinois had doubled issued the plates. Mine being the 2nd issue had to be surrendered and replaced. I lied that I had lost the front plate 4-wheeling. That plate, AKITA1, still hangs in my garage today.

Side note: Few dogs rate as well as Akita's. But then again breeds are a personal preference.
