A friend is one who takes me for what I am.

Cleveland, Tennessee

« on: May 16, 2011, 08:52:18 AM »

First, I would like to thank all those who sent words of encouragement and offers of help. A special thanks to my riding buddy Smokin'Joe who took time out of his busy schedule to call several times to check on me.

My home was hit by one of the devastating tornados that hit the southeast on 4-27. We are ok but, my home suffered a little, damage. Our house was in the dirrect path, and we were lucky we didn't lose everything. I have several neighbors that their homes are a total loss, and will either move or rebuild. I had 2 neighbors died one week after the tornado hit. One was 91 the other was 86, I was real close to both, I suspect the tradgedy was too much on their frail bodies. I was out of power for a week and without phone service and internet for 16 days. My wife and I stayed at our house everynight, for fear of looters.( several were arrested in our community). I have been doing clean-up here and at neighbors. I will have some rebuilding and landscaping to do, so not much riding is going to get done this summer....but I wll be at the Hillbilly Highway Run and Inzane...  Smiley

Glad to hear you and your loved ones made it through. My sincere condolences to all of your neighbors & friends who weren't as lucky.

You did the right thing staying with your house to protect your property and family from those low life looters!!!
