Hello,  Bought my first Valkyrie this week a 2001 decked out Interstate, black and champaign.  I've been looking at Valkyries for years and finally made the jump.  This is one great and fun bike to ride.  We've been riding our 1995 Goldwing Aspencade for the last 10 years and we will be keeping it too.  The wife still likes the Goldwing better.  Will try and post some pictures soon.  We like the sound of the West Virginia Hillbilly Highway ride and we made a reservation and are planning to try and make it there.  We will be bringing the Goldwing instead of the Valkyrie due the wife not being ready to ride the Valkyrie on a long ride yet.  This board sure has a lot of good information on Valkyries.  I've been lurking for quite a while.  It took me over a year to find the right bike to ride.

Thanks,

Dan & Trish Adams

Evil Welcome to the Insanity  Evil

Give me a shout aif you want to come ride around in the mountains sometime.

Get your wife on the VALK, she'll discover that it's as comfortable as the wing and a whole lot more fun.

Mine made the jump from Goldwing to Valk and hasn't looked back.

Some passengers are not used to the more open seating on a valk as compared to a GW.  There are armrests available that can reduce this feeling.  Did a quick google search.  Hoser  cooldude

Yes, Welcome to the zenith of Valkyrie knowledge.  If you ever want to know which is the best oil or filter to use, just ask.  2funny  We can also tell you whether or not it is best to mount a car tire on the rear wheel.  2funny  Congratulations on becoming the owner of the best MC ever...JTL

Congrats ... Unlike boat owners ("best days when you buy it & when you sell it)... Valk owners get that feeling everytime they ride her!   cooldude

Well, you have my condolences.  My cycle has put an incredible strain on our marriage.  My wife use to be a tight wad, never buying anything special for herself, but after she started seeing the endless “packages” coming to the door, and the endless hours I would spend working on my new “fat-girl-friend” she started buying her own little “packages”.  Soon, she would go her way, and I would go mine.  A simple trip to the hardware store often times would take 4 hours, and she’d track me down a hundred miles away……  oh well, at least my cycle’s never going to get mad at me for riding her.

Thanks everyone for all the welcomes and information.

Hi WylieGibbs, no can't trade Trish in, she is the best thing that ever happened to me for almost 30 years now.  I'm just going to have to work to get her more confortable on the Valkyrie.  Unfortuately one of those items is to reduce the noise on the exhaust.  My Interstate had the pigtails cut out and sounds real nice, but the wife doesn't like it so I will probably end up getting another set of stock pipes and installing them.

I will post some pictures of my Valkyrie soon.

Thanks,

Dan

Welcome! I moved from an older 1100 GW and have put more miles on my Tourer (and of course money Roll Eyes) in one year than I did on the wing in 3. Way more enjoyable for me to ride the Valk. I shot my wad this year on the Valk with new paint, shocks, belly tank, and some chrome but plan on Russell seats for wife and I next year. My wife's butt can't stand my rides (too many hours in saddle for her) but hoping the Russel's will change that.  Again, Welcome and hope to see you @ Inzane XI.  Smiley
