I can not see any reason to even worry about the length. Longer wheelbase = Better ride. Ask  anyone who drives an 18 wheeler. The kit that I put one my IS has a 10 in. longer wheelbase over stock. Made by The Trike Shop in Minn. Plan on raked trees. Almost a givin on a Valk. I have an 8 degree and  its wonderful.       Fuzzy

Thanks --That helped.  Trying to get a rough layout on paper for fabrication and am using the swing arm mounting points to locate brackets so unit could be removed.  Why would I do that???  I don't know-----just don't like getting to a point of no return.

I have a swing arm here I bought thinking of having it chrome plated. I could measure it and my final drive and give you a close figure if it will help. Plus the guy I bought my swing arm from has a Road Smith trike kit on his and I seem to remember him telling me it was a complete bolt on deal no welding required, I think it attached to the upper shock mounts and the frame where the exhaust hanger brackets attach making it reversible if desired. You might give there site a look see and try to find installation instructions could give you some good ideas. I know it was a sweet setup with independent suspension. I saw a chevy V8 powered trike out at Sturgis a couple of years ago that used a Ford Thunderbird independent rear suspension that was a very similar setup only he used the whole rear frame from the thunderbird which would be wider. Good Luck with your project takes real skills and talent to build it yours self you should be proud.
