A municipal judge for the city of Andrews was killed Saturday in a single motorcycle accident in Mitchell County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Gerome Cloyd Black, 79, was traveling west on Interstate 20 at Mile Marker 237 about 6:30 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, causing his 2006 Suzuki motorcycle to overturn, according to a news release this morning.

Black was thrown into the center median. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:25 p.m.

The release states the weather was clear and the road dry at the time of the wreck.

Andrews is in West Texas.

Knowing that area... and understanding the weather Saturday... I would suspect wind was a factor.

I would suspect being 79 years old could also be a factor

Remembering how the wind affects "Red Diamond", I would suspect you are both correct, but I would add in light weight bike.

A curve on I-20?

Saw a picture - looked like a crotch rocket.

Prayers to the family - hope I'm still riding at 79.
