Was talking with a mechanic buddy. Not a Valk owner but appreciates all things Horsepower. I mentioned the blower kit to him, and he asked if anyone had ever gone turbocharged with one of these. Anyone?

Considering turbos use exhaust gases to spin the compressor, it would require a serious custom exhaust. It could be done but at what cost?

I can be done... anything can be done.
The biggest issue would be where to put the turbo. There's not much room under that big 6!! You'd have some interesting hoses/pipes to fab up for a good fit.
I, for one, would LOVE to see it done!

It has been done. I can't remember the guys name. It was about 10 years ago. I remeber because it was about the same time I was putting EFI on mine. JeffK might know.

Jim Layden had/has a turbocharged EFI Valk. I helped tune it at IZ?. He popped the pistons in it and I don't know if he ever got them replaced. He got deep into diesel truck racing and kinda let the Valk slide.
It was fast, I rode it after a quick tune. My first impression was "Jim, there is something seriously wrong with the suspension or steering on this bike", he replied, "no, that's just the car tire on the back." Second impression was that it was fast. It didn't turn on as quick as a supercharger, but it was fast. There was a tremendous amount of heat coming off of the turbo, it was under the swing arm, and would roast your ankles. I might have pics, I'll dig around for them.

Dick, I was wondering if that was you. What part of the world are you in now?
