Woke up this morning and found 14 large trees pulled out of the ground. Insurance won't cover because they didn't hit the house. They were pulled up by the roots, it is a real mess. I live in Ardmore, Al. This will have to wait, I'm leaving in the morning for Clayton Ga.

Well santa that really sux. Tryin to figure out the insurance companies. Hitting the house and trees are covered?? Seems to me it's cheaper with just the trees. Course i don't know how your policy is written either. Good luck on everything. Not tryin to be smart a$$ but storms are truly equal oppurtunity. RIDE SAFE .

We had tornadoes all over the area and there are so many trees down that there is enough firewood for the next ten years +. The big problem is getting rid of the stumps (as big as a truck) need heavy equipment to move and bury.

4 miles west of Ardmore, we got some strong wind but not that bad.  Still lots of damage from the last set of storms, driving south on 53 or around Athens, it sure is sad for so many.  A good ride will do you good.  Have fun them trees ain't going nowhere for a while.

Wow... Sorry to hear that!!!

I know how you feel... Hurricane Andrew tore down about that many in my parent's back yard... plus God knows how many more around my Dad's farm.  We had and average of 10 people working for 2 weeks straight using HEAVY farm equipment to make a fast pace of cleaning things up.

We did have several "bon-fires" after that.  You'd be amazed how long wood will burn when you have a pile bigger than your house!!

You folk's that sleep through these need to come see what I see ..... Pay attention to the weather it can kill you ....You can buy a underground shelter now for around $3,400 installed. Getting slung out of bed in a 200 mph twister would be a hellofa way to die  Sad  You see this on TV and you can trust me on this it's not the same as driving through and seeing with your own eye's....Every picture below had loss of life and I have many more pictures that tell the same story.
